Overview
Set in a 500-acre private estate, this 18th-century country house offers luxury rooms with countryside views and its own tennis court. Guests can enjoy on-site trout fishing in the river. With antique furniture, free mineral water and newspapers, each elegant room at Coopershill House boasts a luxurious bathroom with a power shower and deluxe toiletries. Guests can relax with a selection of novels in the room, and enjoy tap water from the house’s own spring. Using home-grown vegetables and venison from the estate, classic Irish fine cuisine is served in the grand dining room with silverware and crystal glasses. Fresh, homemade breakfasts are provided each day, with a huge range of choice. Scenic walks can be enjoyed through the beautiful estate, which also contains numerous deer, a croquet lawn and the River Arrow flowing through it. Horse riding can be arranged by the property, and Sligo town is a 20-minute drive away.

“Exceptional Irish hospitality”
The staff, hosts and food were exceptional. What a gloriously peaceful place… was treated as if it was my house. I loved the vibe of guests mingling gently. A very convivial atmosphere. A delightful find, will be back!

Delicious breakfast with home-made yoghurt; breads and condiments. Locally foraged berry compote and home made muesli, bursting with nutritious seeds and grains. Dinner was a feast of lovingly prepared local ingredients. Service was attentive but unpretentious adding to the overall vibe of homely hospitality in very grand surroundings.

“A Gem”
The house and setting is beautiful. Simon and his staff were very welcoming and relaxed. Dinner was exceptional, the combination of flavours were amazing and the vegetables were very fresh and straight from the garden beside the dining room. The bedroom was large and very comfortable and the silence was perfect for a good night's sleep. Looking forward already to a return visit.

Everything, it was just perfect!! We had a wonderful stay in Coopershill house. We can highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for accommodation outside of the city center. The rooms are top, the hospitality is fantastic...

“Coopershill is a place to put on your 'must do' list of places to visit at least once in your life.”
Coopershill is steeped in history which was in itself a reason for a memorable stay. Add to that the welcoming owners and their fantastic and friendly staff, from whom nothing was too much trouble, and cap the whole thing off with gourmet standard food (both the breakfasts and evening meals) using local ingredients, many from the immediate locale and attached gardens, all of which results, in my opinion that it would be hard to beat, not just in Ireland, but also many of the other countries that I have visited.
