“Wonderful hotel immersed in nature”

This hotel is a gem and we wish we could have stayed longer but just came for the night to be close to hike Chirripo Mountain before flying back home the next day. The rooms were spacious, bed comfortable and everything was very clean. We didn't get to explore the trails and grounds but they seemed well mapped out! The staff were all incredibly nice and helpful!

Amazing Place!!!

It’s a unique place and an immersive experience that we’ll never forget. The staff are all exceptionally knowledgeable about the wildlife and they are so warm and kind. We loved our time there and we would recommend it to anyone with an interest in birds, hiking or just spending time in nature. The hikes in the grounds were fantastic, we didn’t even need to leave the grounds.

“A rare jewel”

The nature reserve was absolutely fabulous and living inside it was such a treat. We couldn’t have asked for more. Maintaining the reserve and in such a way that guests could walk around it easily was a work made possible by the passion and dedication of decades. To have so much stunning rainforest available to just a small number of guests must be exceedingly rare. Watching and trying to identify all the different types of birds at breakfast was breathtaking. The food was excellent and the rooms spacious, comfortable and spotless. As a bonus the coffee was delicious.

The manager of the reserve was incredibly kind and helpful. The property is out of this world beautiful and the trails are well maintained, well marked and very special.

We liked the chalet very much, on top of a hill. The birdtour with Steven was very nice. The owners were very helpful with all of our questions. Breakfast was top!

All the staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfasts were excellent. We stayed here for the hiking trails and weren't disappointed. Beautiful and very challenging but waterfalls were well worth the effort.

“Beautiful stay with stunning nature and amazing trails from your cabin”

Beautiful accommodation right inside the nature reserve with incredible trails to explore. We don’t have a car and so it was perfect! We hiked over 20km in a day with a big highlight being Pam’s Path because it felt like a scene out of avatar. The cabin was really clean, felt luxurious and private and the whole accommodation felt very safe. We loved the windows in the cabin and how the light comes in so wonderfully to naturally wake you up with the sound of the birds singing. The restaurant is great for bird watching and we enjoyed sitting outside and observing the many stunning varieties. The staff were extremely kind and attentive, couldn’t do enough for us. We were able to walk easily to other restaurants too during our stay and they were all great!

“Unbelievable that such a beautiful place isn't overrun by tourists”

The location is incredible: beautiful but calm and peaceful (I really couldn't believe that this place wasn't overrun by tourists, less beautiful places are), colibris at breakfast, incredible (but challenging) trails with waterfalls at the reserve (you actually need two full days for the reserve, although I only had one because I also visited Cloudbridge). Also a big thank you to the very friendly and helpful staff: they made great suggestions for my hiking day in the reserve, they drove me to my cabin with a car because there was heavy rain when I arrived, meals were great, ...

“Amazing place, to see and live absolutely”

The nature surrounding was amazing, plenty of activities are available in the natural reserve and the personal was so very kind. Our only regret is to have spent only one night there.

Our first impression was about the property size and beauty! And we were impressed how clean and lovely the room was. Amazing! It’s definitely a paradise! Lots of hiking trails right on the property! Yes it was all pretty good. The best thing was the close proximity to the bird feeders which were in constant and varied use - quite spectacular, Highlight every day was having breakfast while watching the wildlife!

Family run business up in the hills where the temperature is cooler and with a different set of flora and fauna. It's an adapted farm that has been planted into some lovely zones. Staff attentive. Restaurant available. Rooms excellent.
