Fantastic House and host

I would give an 11/10 if I could! We had a fantastic stay here, and actually stayed an additional night because we enjoyed it so much. The property is beautiful (designed by Jean himself!), and in a beautiful setting too with the river just in front of the balcony. We saw so many birds and butterflies from the balcony, and also Tayras along the river. Not only that, but in the evening the glow worms put on a light show that we could watch from our bed, truly magical. Talamanca Nature Reserve is just across the road, or Cloudbridge Nature Reserve a bit further up the road. I'd definitely recommend visiting both whilst in the area. Jean was an incredible host and couldn't have been more accommodating. The property was very clean and had everything we needed. We even had lemon water and pineapple waiting for us in the fridge which was a lovely touch. He also drove us to San Isidro on our final day to take our next bus which was above and beyond. Thank you for such a lovely stay!

We booked 3 nights to be close to Cerro Chirripo and wish we could stay a bit longer. What a gem it is indeed - thanks to a fantastic panoramic window we were falling asleep watching glow worms every night. Daytime view is equally pleasing - breakfast on a terrace surrounded by nature with relaxing sound of birds and a nearby river. Highly recommend if you want somewhere amazing to stay when hiking Cerro Chirripo - we were descending looking forward to everything this place has to offer. Also, Talamanca Nature Reserve is right next door and Cloudbridge is only a short walk away. Last but not least, the owner is such a warm and attentive person. We hope to revisit one day.

“Little gem on the hill”

This place is a gem. At first glance it's a little red shed, but once you enter the landscape unfolds. Lurking on the hillside, the back of the lodge is a glass wall that allows you to overview the jungle and river from out of the bed. We loved how the owner reforested this former pasture into a little garden of eden. You can take a bath in the river and have breakfast on the balcony with birds all around. It's on walking distance from the Hummimgbird garden, Cloud Bridge reserve and other places.
