“Great place on the river”

Lovely family run hotel on the river. Big clean comfortable rooms with a great view of the river. They were very helpful arranging trips and transfers for us.

There was a misunderstanding with the price of the stay (booking made it for one person but I needed it for two and in the end it was more expensive) Linda Vista were very responsive with communication and understanding of the problem.

“DO NOT GO HERE!”

Nothing. WORST EXPERIENCE! Do not go here! Do NOT go here — extremely bad experience. When we arrived, the staff were friendly at first. But the moment we pointed out that the room was not what we had booked, everyone suddenly became rude. We had booked a family room for 4 people (clearly stated in the confirmed reservation). The description also mentioned 3 beds, yet we were given a small room with only two small beds for four people. When we told the reception, they simply said: “You have to pay extra.” I explained that we had already paid for 4 people and showed the confirmation and photos. They didn’t care. They insisted we either pay extra or give up the breakfast (which was included in our price, so we paid for that). As if that wasn’t enough, when we left, they even took away the small bottle of water from my 2-year-old son, claiming it “belonged to the room.” The manager told us over the phone that if we didn’t like it, we should “just leave.” So we did. They dropped our family — including young children — at a random parking lot and told us to figure it out ourselves. Absolutely not recommended. Stay far away from this place.

“Good place to chill!”

The owner of the hotel was super friendly. The first room we were in had a broken window pane, but when we alerted the owner, we immediately got another (a lot cleaner and more modern) room with good windows and good mosquito nets. The owner also arranged our shuttle to Antigua for us. Moreover, the food in the restaurant was tasty! Additionally, the view was amazing and the deck was really nice to chill on.

“Relaxing and on the river”

We enjoyed being on the river and the free kayaks. Watching life on the river go on while lounging on the deck. The swimming pool was a good way of cooling off. The food from the restaurant was always good and sometimes excellent. The staff were all super friendly and were always on hand. The owner helped us booked tickets to Livingston. Our room was clean and comfortable and we had space to unpack.

English speaking would have helped. The staff was wonderful!

Beautiful setting at the front of the property, free kayaks to use and also give free boat to the town which was great. The pool was fab. Friendly staff. Air con.

Great place to unwind for a few days, you are in middle of a lake with no roads! be prepared to stay at hotel a lot of the time, staff only speak Spanish but I liked this as I’m trying to learn Spanish (use it as an opportunity to learn)

“Best location in Rio Dulce”

What a beautiful location. At the Rio Dulce river. Very relaxing environment. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are kayaks that you can use to explore the river an mangroves. The room is very spacious and the bathroom is big enough.

“Perfect place to stay in Rio Dulce!!”

Amazing stay! If you're coming to Rio Dulce this is the place to stay! Family run, very well kept place. The photos & description on booking.com don't do this place justice - it is much better than we expected! Very clean!! The pool is perfect to cool down & the rooms are spacious. We stayed for 6 nights in the end and many people came only for 1 night. This is the perfect place to slow down and relax if you have been travelling for a while like us - so we advise that you stay here for at least a few nights and enjoy the peacefulness. The owner speaks English - the rest of the staff don't but they are all very friendly and done everything to help us. They will pick you up by boat right at the shuttle stop in Rio so it is a really easy transfer to get there. Every day they took us into the town by a really nice 10 minute boat ride. They can book other trips for you - we went for a boat trip to Livingston. And they also booked our onward shuttle to Guatemala City for us. 10/10 service 👍 Rio Dulce town is crazy. The contrast between the chaos in the town and the tranquility of Linda Vista was perfect for us.

Such a lovely hotel and stay. Wonderful family owned business - you feel like you are somehow apart of their family. From the moment I arrived, I was provided with a friendly and efficient service. There is a complimentary boat service they provide to pick you up from where the bus drops you from Guate, and brings you to the hotel. Wifi was not too strong in my room.. but good enough. I needed to attend a work meeting one morning, and they allowed me to use a specific area in the restaurant, that had the strongest signal - very attentive. One of the owners actually sat with me and gave me his recommendations on what to see in a short amount of time. He also sent me an assuring reply to a text I happen to send to the hotel (after I checked out), to get their opinion on a particular public bus charge I was quoted. Food and cocktails were also lovely!
