A wonderful restful place to stay. Loved the way the host asked us all at dinner what we'd like to do the next day- then organised it all for us. Also had some lovely chilled out days just pottering on the river by canoe, swimming or lounging in the hammocks. AND liked having access to washing line and sinks for washing clothes by hand.

Amazing stay at Hotelito Perdido!

I initially booked only a night and ended up staying 5 nights The hotel and staff is amazing! Many activities are proposed and the food is great ; 5 breakfast options, very good sandwiches for lunch, and a family dinner every night that brings people together! As a solo traveller it was THE perfect stay, I highly recommend!

A Magical Riverside Escape, highly Recommended!

El Hotelito Perdido is an absolute gem. Nestled right on the river, the natural surroundings are breathtaking, creating a truly magical atmosphere. The rooms are clean and simple, with beds on the upper level, and the sense of peace and tranquility here is priceless. Tim, the owner, was extremely communicative both before our arrival and throughout our stay, making the experience seamless and welcoming. Dinner was delicious and generously portioned, and the breakfast (available for an extra fee) was excellent. During our stay, we took an excursion to the waterfalls, Playa Blanca, and Livingston, which we booked directly through Tim. The whole experience was excellent and perfectly organized. The hotel's overall ambiance is warm and inviting, making it an ideal place to unwind and appreciate the beauty of nature. Highly recommended!

Book ahead!

We booked well in advance for this very popular hotel.    It is accessed only by boat,  either from Rio Dulce or Livingston.    On arrival we were shown straight to our bungalow.  We booked the large one on the river front.   It is huge, with 2 beds upstairs,  living area,  small kitchen and bathroom downstairs.  The terrace is lovely with hammocks, table and chairs to relax to watch river life go by.     There are other seating areas on the front decking next to the small bar and yoga platform.    It's a really lovely space. The communal dining area and kitchen houses the dormitory above and also the reception desk.    Nothing is too much trouble if you ask.    Tim, the owner knows all there is to know about transport and what is around and about.    The staff are all very friendly and helpful.  We used the kayaks most days. You do have to pay extra for them.    We went to the Lampara waterfalls one day and the next,  Kevin arranged for us to have a guide to hike through the jungle to Livingston and get the boat back.   This trip is an extra.    Both were great experiences.   The grounds are wonderful,  lots of different birds to see,  lots of separate areas,  such as laundry area,  WiFi zone,  seating,  dining.  The food was very sustainable portions!   Each evening the meals were very varied and the communal table was really good fun to be social.    We met some lovely young people!  We stayed an extra night and were housed in The Treehouse on the opposite banks of the river,  at Dos Rios.  It was really cute, cozy and clean and we had use of a kayak to come back to the main hotel for our meals.   Kevin arranged our transfer back to rio dulce and the onward shuttle to Flores for Q175 each.   You can't get to this place by accident,  book ahead!

Hotelito Perdido is a beautiful jungle retreat with nice rooms, a warm and social atmosphere, and fantastic nature-based

- Extremely friendly and welcoming owner & staff - I received a free room upgrade to a private room, which was absolutely amazing and totally unexpected (& hot water showers) - The beds are comfortable - Family-style dinners are a great way to connect with other guests and share experiences - Amazing activities nearby, such as kayaking on the river, visiting waterfalls, and hot springs - Beautiful natural setting with relaxing jungle sounds at night

Perfect to wind down, relax & disconnect!

Absolutely loved the vibe of this ‘jungle hotel’. Meals happen in the common area at one big table, and the food is great, dinner is always vegetarian (which we really appreciated!), and all the meals are very fairly priced. Anything you need, Tim or the staff will be happy to help you/organise it for you. Plenty of hammocks to chill, and a fun bar by the water with cocktails (again, very decently priced)! We loved spending a few nights here at the end of our 3 weeks Guatemala and it was perfect.

Amigable con el medio ambiente y con la gente / Eco-friendly and human friendly

We appreciated the relaxing, beautiful, eco-friendly and human friendly environment; the lush, natural space; the collective dinners full of conversation and delicious food; the hammocks and kayaks; and the airy, comfortable eco-cabins. I liked that guests need to be intentional in using their phones, as wifi is available but only in certain locations, allowing a relaxing vacation free from constant screen use.
