“Loved it. Lived it.”
We loved our time here. It was a last minute booking and I had not noticed it was in the favela! What an adventure. Felt totally safe and friendly. The hotel was great, beautiful design, views and vibe. Staff could not have been more helpful. We initially booked for one night, but stayed for three. Also the food was really good.

I loved my experience here. From the onset communication for arrival, amenities and your stay were fantastic! Arrival is through the Favela by either bus, bike or a pre booked ride with the hotel. The Favela transport costs 10reals, I took a van up and a bike down, amazing to see the community as you speed through the streets. The room I took was brilliant, dont forgot you are in a favela and not the dubai palm so expect flaws but if your open minded and see through the flaws you will have a great time! Big double bed, massive TV, mini bar with drinks and snacks to purchase, a balcony with amazing views(the room i had) electric window blinds for privacy and a lovely breakfast! Service was also fantastic and all staff are super friendly and helpful. I would not walk about the favela at night like I did, but I didn't get hurt, as always I speak to people politely with decency and they will see your a tourist and leave you alone. Its definitely worth a stop here for a night or 2 to see this way of life which is quite extraordinary!

Nice stay in this Hotel, not easy to access but it is worth it. Just make sure you have enough small change for the moto or the Van.

“Stay here!”
Amazing! I was a female solo traveller The room was spacious The bed super comfy The shower better than any power shower The mini bar better stocked than any hotel The balcony and view the best ! The taxi driver who took me up was very infornative vehicles people motorbikes everywhere but everyone gets on!!! No one shouting or pushing like in Uk..!. But the motor bike taxi's...id go back for that experience!! I travelled with at least 6.. all exceeded expectations. From the young guy with heavy base playing making me laugh... to the night guy who took me on a mini tour... to the morning guy who took me to the Sheraton and checked i crossed the busy rush hour traffic .and not forgetting the one who took me to the cafe on the beach !! Oh and the onr who took me and my very heavy case and two bags.. and I'm no lightweoght... down to catch a cab checking i was ok all the way !.. And thank you to the young guys from Mirante ..who carried my bags to the motorbike without even asking.! The drum practice was also an added bonus good to see young people carryimg on tradition and being involved in the community and not glued to any phone or ipad !!!

Ended up not staying due to the location being inaccessible needing go take motorcycles with heavy luggage or local taxis up the steep hill. It was raining and the cars could not make it up the hill due to wheel slipping in the rain. This inaccessability was not marketed in the descriptions prior to booking. I booked a secondary accommodation instead. Despite asking for a fee waiver for the cancelation I have not heard back from them. I do expect a refund
