Great hotel in the heart of Richmond. Very friendly staff, very clean and tidy rooms with alot of charm. The internal courtyard to relax during the day/night is great, and parking is just around the corner at a separate garage. I personally got a space no problem. Highly recommended for any length of stay in Richmond.

Very helpful staff with good recommendations about the town, where to eat etc. The rom was quiet and comfortable.

“Beautiful and Unique Hotel”

Beautiful historic building with a relaxed feel. We stayed in one of the 'garden' rooms (ie. smaller and more affordable) and while it wasn't as elegant as the bigger rooms we saw from the hall, our room was clean and cozy and had a great view of the courtyard and fountain. The courtyard makes this hotel and anyone who stays here should take advantage. We picked up bagels from the Jewish diner around the corner and had breakfast by the fountain. One night, we sat out there and played cards. The downtown location was perfect and we never had trouble finding parking within a couple blocks of the hotel. I'd absolutely recommend this place and I'd absolutely stay here again.

“Beautiful hotel in quiet location ensuring a good nights sleep”

Lovely comfy beds, big room and quiet location. Slightly out of town so quite a walk which was OK til it rained. Staff very friendly and helpful in recommending local restaurants. Nice to have umbrellas to borrow when it rained.

Great location close to lots of restaurants. Lovely grounds. Lots of character in rooms and gardens. Good facilities in room - microwave, coffee maker, etc. Clean.

The inn has a very unique atmosphere as everything is nicely renovated without losing the historical touch. There was even a collection of E.A. Poe's work in my room. :-) There is a cat belonging to the inn. :-)

The best place to stay in Downtown Richmond! The inn feels very Virginia - red brick, traditional interior, lots of greenery. Highly recommended!

“Charming historical inn falls short”

Gorgeous inn with a noble history. The location was convenient for touring on foot, although on one side the neighborhood was pretty iffy.

The classic buildings have a rich atmosphere, and the staff were friendly, kindly allowing me to check in slightly before the official time (3 p.m.).

I loved the building, the interior decoration, the linden trees in the garden and oh the garden! Location was great, we were able to walk to the restaurant for dinner (we had dinner at Tarrant's). Parking was not a problem. Our room was clean. I loved the Edgar Allan Poe collection on the nightstand. Nice touch.
