Central Reykjavik is 10 minutes’ walk from this hostel, which is set on the University of Iceland’s campus. It offers a communal kitchen and free WiFi in common areas. A bus stop is located in front of the hostel, and offers connections to the airport and city. Each simply furnished guest room at Student Hostel provides garden or city views. Bathroom facilities are shared. A café, restaurant and bar are found on site, as well as a book store. A variety of restaurants can be found in the surrounding area. The hostel doubled in size and the new building has 30 new modern designed rooms with Private Bathrooms and large fully equipped Kitchens on each floor. Lake Tjörnin is just 50 metres away. The National Museum of Iceland is a 2-minute walk from Student Hostel and the Hallgrímskirkja Church is 1 km away.

“A student Hostel that exceeds expectations and allows for cost efficiency in an expensive Iceland.”
The rooms were clean, quiet, with very comfortable beds. Having our own private bathroom was important and it was equally clean. The common kitchen was a lifesaver given the exorbitant costs of dining out. We were able to buy a few groceries and cooked our own meals vs going out. The kitchen was massive in size that allowed more than one cook at a time and people shared the cleaning. It also encouraged meeting fellow travellers and gaining tips and tricks for being in Iceland. The location was excellent within walking distance to down town Reykjavik and had lots of free parking. A very comfortable stay and one I would go back to and recommend to other travellers.

The kitchen was well equipped with more than just the basics. So cooking proper meals was no problem. A big plus was free parking.

“Clean safe room, very handy for walking to the bus station and into the town”
Good value for money, very clean room with basin. I was able to leave my bag in a locked luggage room before check-in and after check-out. Great to have access to a kitchen. Handy for the bus station; I walked there in around 10/15 minutes. I would stay here again

Lovely building with gorgeous architecture inside. Easy walking distance into town and conveniently close to bus routes. Really helpful staff on the front desk. Would definitely stay here again.
