This was a hotel I took a chance on and booked after I landed in Iceland. We lucked out. It’s such a peaceful, relaxing place, by a beautiful lake, and one would never know you were 20 mins outside Reykjavik. The staff are a credit to the management. Super friendly, helpful and accommodating and the young chef also catered to my dietary requirements without fuss. This really was a great family run place to finish off our road trip before we flew back home. If I were to return to Iceland, I would definitely stay here again!

We booked the family or triple room last minute as we had to cancel the trip to Husavik. This location is just at the perimeters of Reykjavik which means less hordes of tourists. You get a nice resort vibes and splendid views and they even throw in a nice hot tub for use. Our guests were truly impressed by the immaculate hotel designs and furnishings. Room is spacious, bath room is superb. Breakfast spread was good and comes with another stunning view. Fast WIFI. Staff were friendly. Free parking on site

The ambience was lovely. The view was beautiful. The room was excellent and very comfortable. The staff was very informative and helpful. We could actually see the Northern Lights from our room, but the weather that day was snowy, so we missed them. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Iceland.

Wonderful place! The staff is so warm and genuinely kind-hearted that you just want to come back again and again. The dinners are extremely delicious. Breakfast is really good too. The hotel is very clean and has a lovely hot jacuzzi. It’s a quiet and beautiful spot. There’s a lake right nearby — perfect for nice walks. Super convenient location: close enough to the city, yet you can still watch the Northern Lights. I will definitely return. Thank you so much for such a fantastic stay! ❤️

“Fabulous hotel, location, vibe, food and were treated like royalty...”

Room exceptional and hotel vibe was like being a member of the family! Had a lake and mountain view from our room and with the snow it was beautiful. The bed was very comfy and I don't usually sleep first night away, but we relaxed straight away. Bathrooms modern and non existent sulphur smell from hot water. Staff were amazing, so warm and friendly and couldn't do enough - although not on your tail, just around and there when needed. Breakfast was lovely - looked compact at first but you had everything you needed and all fresh and hot. Lots of areas to chill and after a full day out, we enjoyed drinks at the bar then moved to a lovely lounge area with a beautiful view and within seconds, all candles were lit to make us cosy. Highly recommend this hotel. We had a meal one night and the food was exceptional and we have travelled far and wide. We had a car and was aware that Reykjavik centre was around 20 minutes drive - perfect for us. We've been to Reykjavik a few times. Sky lagoon is 20 minute drive and the golden circle - Thingivellir Park is around 40 mins.. although took us closer to an hour due to scary but exciting snow storms!! We will definitely be back to this hotel at some point and think it could be equally as beautiful in the summer. We looked at reviews on booking and there were some comments about the decor... there was even a 1/5 which is a shocker... we all have different opinions but for the location, price and our experience - you just go with the quirky decor - it fits and was endearing. 10/10 for us and the couple we travelled with.

Such good fun, staff couldn't have been more helpful and the food was great. They even turned up the Northern Lights for us!!!

Location at the lake, fine breakfast

A small, cosy hotel with fabulous rooms featuring large king-size beds and beautiful views. The sliding door opened onto a small outdoor area, where we were lucky enough to watch the northern lights. The room was well equipped with a kettle, tea and coffee, and a small fridge. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good, with plenty of meats and cheeses on offer. While there wasn’t a huge selection of hot food, there was certainly enough to enjoy. The hot tub and sauna area were a lovely addition, though they could benefit from a little updating. There’s plenty of free parking available. It’s slightly off the beaten track, but truly a wonderful find.
