Guesthouse Sunna has been my go-to since 2019, and I've just had my 7th visit. The rooms are very comfortable, the breakfast delicious, the amenities excellent, and the friendly staff go out of their way to be helpful. Not only is it great value, but situated as it is beside the Hallgrimskirkja - Reykjavik's tallest church - you'll never have trouble finding your way home after prowling the very walkable Reykjavik!

“Fantastic location and very comfortable stay”

absolutely loved the location of Guesthouse Sunna – it’s right next to Hallgrímskirkja, with a beautiful view and easy access to everything in Reykjavík. The room was very clean and comfortable. I stayed in a budget room, but it still had everything I needed, including a small chair where I could sit and relax, which was a lovely touch. There was a small sink in the room, which was great. My room was opposite a small kitchenette where other guests were cooking, but despite that, it was very quiet and I wasn’t disturbed at all. I had booked breakfast and initially thought it wasn’t included, but that was my mistake – I hadn’t realised it had been placed in the fridge. When I went to reception, they kindly offered to quickly prepare something for me, which was incredibly thoughtful and appreciated. There was no one at reception when I arrived, but the check-in process was exactly as explained in the pre-arrival message – simple and very easy to follow. Overall, a really pleasant stay. I would definitely recommend it!

For this price, we got almost nothing! The bathroom & shower were not in our room, the breakfast was exceptionally terrible: bad coffee, no fresh fruit or cucumber even, green eggs, everything way too salty, only salty bread, cheese or ham. Cheapest of the cheapest yoghurt and tea. No other choices than that. We had to get our breakfast outside the hotel, to eat and drink something normal. Bad aftertaste. Outdated interior. We even have to buy shampoo or douche gel separately… what a scam!!

Modern clean and quiet. Good location. Comforatable beds. Easy enough to come and go. Good communication with regards to the out of hours arrival.

Location was perfect, the iconic church was very close by, easy to walk to the city center, has restaurants, cafes, supermarkets near by. Room was clean and cosy. Staff were excellent.
