Its location is perfect for golden circle visits and anything around the south coast. The property feels like you are in a picture postcard. There is a hot spring stream that steams away right next to the lodge giving a unique feel. We experienced the northern lights every day bar one which was only because it’s snowed. The lodge is toasty warm all the time for us. The hot tub is fed by the local geothermal spring so is constantly warm. The beds are comfy although I did need an extra pillow or two for me. The kitchen is fully stocked with a bbq out on the deck too. You will feel a reel Sense of calm and relaxation here and if the Sky’s are clear the best nights scape too.

“Great and comfy stay”

The stay was great; the house was spacious and clean; even with 10 people, everyone found their own space. The living room and kitchen also met our expectations; we could spend time together, chat, and watch movies. In the evenings, we could also use the jacuzzi and watch the Northern Lights, so that was a great experience. When cooking, we also noticed that the house provided many basic ingredients that we could use.

Our stay was absolutely perfect—better than we could have imagined, and even better than the pictures! Communication with Gudmundur was seamless; he was incredibly responsive and eager to assist with any questions we had. The house was easy to find by following Gudmundur's detailed directions, and its location is ideal for exploring the south of Iceland. The house itself was spacious and comfortable, easily accommodating our group of seven with plenty of room to spare. Everything was spotless—the bathrooms, bed linens, and kitchen utensils were all impeccably clean. The true highlight of our stay was the natural thermal creek right by the house. It was such a unique and relaxing experience, and my friends and I made it a nightly ritual to soak in its warm waters under the Icelandic sky. Just a word of caution: the creek can get quite hot at times, so be mindful! The views from the house are breathtaking, especially when you lay in the hot tub and there's a herd of horses running in front of you on sunset and mountains background. Overall, this was an unforgettable stay, and I can’t recommend it enough. Thank you, Gudmundur, for making our trip so special! Next time we visit Iceland, we'll definitely book this house again.

The location is spectacular. Wonderful views of the river, mountains and a gorgeous thermal stream to the side of the property. Wonderful panoramic views form the inside of the lodge. The beds are super large and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with herbs and spices to hand. The hot tub was hot and well used each evening.

“Pleasent hideaway to relax and escape from the city routine.”

Views were amazing. Night sky was dark and we could see auroras when not cloudy without any light noise. The hot tub was very nice, and the view to the riverside was also very pleasent. The house was very spacious and the kitchen was very well equipped.

“Nice, spacious and comfortable lodge”

Very spacious, clean and well equiped lodge with large and comfortable beds in 5 bedrooms. 2 bathrooms are available, one with a bath, second with a shower. And the bath tub with hot water on the terrace with nice mountain views was simply amazing. Wifi was very good.

“It was AMAZING!”

It was our best overnight stay in Iceland. The house was clean, huge, the area around the house was very large and well-kept. It's a pity that we discovered a place for a bonfire at the very end 😊 The house is very comfortable, everyone could find their own place if they wanted to relax. Getting there wasn't that difficult either, despite the ice on the road. All equipment was functional. We even had a vacuum cleaner to keep it clean. Warm water, good pressure. Only at some points the water in the hot tube was cold. It seems to me that the thermostat needs repair or complete replacement. The heating of the house was very efficient. Towels and bedding clean! We could use the washing machine where we washed them on a regular basis. We used the grill, oven, and coffee machine (sorry, we forgot to remove the grounds from the tank at the end☹) An amazing surprise was the warm river that connected with a large river. It was another atmospheric place to warm up during the day. The place is perfect for watching the aurora borealis We already know that we will definitely come back to this place 😊
