A wonderful place with enough trees and other plant species, right on the beach. Although there was a lot of other guests, everyone had their own peace, the accommodation units are far enough from each other that everyone has their own privacy. The toilets are extremely clean, as is the shared kitchen, where you can prepare your own meals. Also, the tavern that is part of this is particularly magical, wonderful music, a view of the beach and excellent food at quite normal prices. I would also like to praise the staff who went out of their way to meet us for everything we asked for. There is a big market only 10 minutes walking and some restaurants nearby. Rethymno city center is some 4 km away which is a nice walk in the evening. Also, some 10 minutes after you start walking towards the center there are already many restaurants and caffes. The beach is beautiful, the only drawback is that it is pebbly, there are also larger stones, so on days when the waves are big, it is difficult to enter the sea, since the waves literally throw pebbles and stones towards the beach and potential swimmers. The positive side is that the beach has very few people and gives you peace. Shortly, Camping Elizabeth is a piece of heaven on Earth :)

We stayed in caravan with shower/wc. Very clean.Good air con .Well equipped . Large covered sitting out area. Very close to beach and lovely Taverna but no noise ( except for waves of the sea )Relaxed and friendly people on site . Lovely bar b q available on a thursday eve.

“Facilities and tents comfy themselves but overcrowded”

Staff is friendly, canvas tent was clean, linen and towels were provided and changed once per 1 week stay. Also they provided a powerful fan. It helped a bit. Anyway it was too hot inside until sunset (but I expected that). Free sunbeds for beach usage. There’s some shade under trees at the beach gate. Also you can take an umbrella. Showers and toilets were clean enough. Hot water in the morning and in the evening. Also there’s place to handwash your cloth. A lot of drinking taps, beach shower. Taverna is ok. Nothing special about food but atmosphere is welcoming.

We rented 2 bungalows which were nice and comfy, with basic facilities. The wet rooms were spacious and tidy. The taverna at the campsite offered breakfast and very good choice for dinner. The beautiful beach was just couple of steps away.

“Great stay in the middle of nature and close to interesting spots on the island”

We stayed in the safari tent at the beach and were amazed by the huge "windows" towards the green surroundings and the sound from the waves and the cicadas. The tent also offers a nice private terrace and bathroom. The tavern beside is really cosy with good food and right on the beach so the kids could play, when they were done eating. One of the nights a group of volunteers came and gave a presentation on their sea turtle conservation program, which we appreciated. The camping site is a great spot for making tours to fx the south of the island, Lake Kournas and Knossos archeological site.

Great place to spend some relaxing days.

I have been there last year and i was completely amazed, so, had an urge of paying a visit this year too and i was amazed once more! -Very kind and overall great demeanor of all the staff and everybody else who accommodates there. People really respect each other and socialize in a way that makes others feel fully secure. You can also find your privacy as the physical layout of the field is skilful enough to provide it. Means, you do not feel like you are surrounded by many people in an overwhelming way as the tents/caravans are not put right next to each other. -From the entrance of the camping field -where reception is- to the beach, you would only walk for 40-50 seconds. We booked a caravan and it was literally only 10 seconds walk from ours to the beach! The field has a square shape, so it makes it comfortably big and compact at the same time. -There is a lovely beach taverna, on the right edge of the field. Incredibly nice food, drinks and staff! My favorite is pork Souvlaki. Served with some Greek salad and fries. The portion is really big, the meat is nicely marinated, so, deliciously soft! You definitely should try some local olive oil and vinegar on your food, as you would already find them on your table. As the taverna is a "beach taverna", all the tables naturally have a beach view. No disturbing music, no loud people, no over the top prices. Greek coffee and raki are also worth to try! -There are two main toilets/showers quarter, on the left and on the right margin of the field. More than enough for everybody and always clean. -There are battery stations all over the field for your devices. There is also a well functioning internet connection all over the field and the taverna. -You would find a kitchen in the middle of the total field where you can cook and use the fridge of. There is also a cold drinking water station within. Always clean. -The beach is a total perfection!

Excellent value for money. Quiet, safe and good location right at the beach, within walking distance from the places I wanted to be, including the Old Town. The included sunbeds were a nice treat, although I was always off on other business and didn’t get to use them much. I arrived in the middle of the night and left early in the morning - excellent communication from the staff as to make sure I got into my bungalow even hours after reception and tavern closing times.

Fabulous location. Stayed in a bungalow, which was perfect for our needs. Used the Taverna regularly. Lots of shade and my wife loved the cats.

Location has everything you need, nicely located at the edge of Rethymno. Beach is calm, free use of chairs and umbrellas. The taverna is amazing!

Great, quiet place to stay, every thing that I needed was within reasonable distance. Had a great double bed to sleep in, close to a beach, at resorbable price. It is a very good camping site.
