Overview
Set on the Valdarno Superiore hills to the south of Florence, I Bonsi is set in a fortified manor house dating back to the 15th century. The property features a park with outdoor swimming pool, and sun terraces with views of the Arno Valley. Agriturismo I Bonsi offers rustic apartments, which blend original architectural features and modern facilities. Each features a patio, and a fully equipped kitchen or kitchenette. Free Wi-Fi is available in the apartments and by the pool. The property is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. It was restored in a neo-Gothic style by the noble Budini Gattai family, who made it their residence in the 19th century. There is also a beautiful 17-century church. You can visit the oil mill, and buy the olive oil and wine produced on site. Free parking is provided, and you can rent a bicycle at reception for free, and explore the estate and the area.

“It was a great experience and we’ll come back for sure!”
Everything was absolutely wonderful! It felt like living in a real historic castle. Breakfast was delivered to the apartment in the morning, and there was a large area around for walking or even jogging. Just 2 km away there’s a cozy café with amazing coffee. The value for money was perfect. Florence is only an hour to an hour and a half away by car, depending on traffic. A true Tuscan fairytale!

“Beautiful Escape”
A great place to relax. We had a pleasant stay in this idyllic location. We had plenty of space and enjoyed the peace around us. The pool offered a great opportunity to cool down after coming back in the afternoon. The breakfast was good and offered a bigger variety than you'd be used to in Italy. The staff was friendly and helpful.

“Magical Stay in a Historic Castle”
An unforgettable stay! Every morning started with a delicious breakfast served right to our apartment – such a treat. The apartment itself was huge, beautifully decorated, and full of character. We loved being surrounded by animals on the grounds, and the historic charm of the castle made it feel truly magical. The staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. And don’t get me started on the local olive oil – absolutely incredible! This place is a hidden gem, and we’d come back in a heartbeat. It to mention super close to the mall for some epic shopping.

Actually it looks better than of the pictures here. Fine breakfast, amazing views and restaurants nearby, with the most delicious food and wine, I’ve ever had been eaten&drunk. Definitely recommend.

It is located on a peaceful remote location but not too far from Florence. Everything from the facilities to a garden is so well maintained. We got fresh breakfast delivered everyday.

“Perfect from start to finish”
Absolutely perfect from start to finish. The entire castle and area surrounding is amazing to explore and brings such tranquillity and peace. Early morning walks at sunrise and laying out on the warm grass with a picnic were amazing. Kenny (the dog), the cats and the roaming peacocks are great company and the team are all so lovely and helpful. The breakfast is abundant and fresh, and the accomodation had everything we needed. Highly recommend staying and reserving a day to just enjoy the castle and area surrounding it. The home grown honey and wine are must-trys from Giacomo's little selection in the reception.

I am not sure how it works yet the stay here makes you feel like you have always belonged in a castle in Tuscany surrounded by olive orchards with great views. It is all just very natural even if it is surreal. The staff is amazing, the rooms are very spacious and the pool is fantastic. Thank you, Giacomo for the warm welcome and David, for the mornings and outstanding eggs. 🤩

“Beautiful and relaxing weekend at Bonsi”
We had an amazing weekend at the Bonsi Castell. Giacomo showed us around the property and the process of making olive oil. We loved our stay, very relaxing! We arrived just after the season finished so the food options in the surroundings were limited. Although Florence with a lot of open restaurants wasn’t too far away. Thanks!

Wonderful accommodation and outstanding host! Giacomo is not just welcoming and friendly but he also shares his passion and knowledge about olive oil production, wine making and the history of the villa. Apartment was beautiful and clean, and beds were very comfortable. We slept like babies! The farm itself with old tractors, olive trees, garden etc offered a lot to see. We really enjoyed our stay!
