The Nest is one of those Icelandic hotels that is a bit of an adventure - getting there is half the fun as Raufarhofn is miles away from anywhere! The hotel is comfortable and cosy, and the Arctic Henge is minutes away.

The Place Is comfortable, super clean, with ample rooms and big common spaces. The kitchens are well organized with everything you Need to cook. One of the best places we stayed in Iceland.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience staying here. The location is ideal – peaceful and easy to reach. The accommodation itself is very clean, cozy, and tastefully decorated, with all the necessary amenities to make you feel right at home. Everything was well-maintained and thoughtfully arranged, which made my stay incredibly comfortable. One of the real highlights was the owner – she is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely cares about her guests. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel like a valued guest. She offered great advice on what to see and do in the area, recommended some amazing local spots. Nothing was ever a problem for her, and she was very flexible and willing to help with any request. Her relaxed and positive attitude created such a pleasant atmosphere. If you’re looking for a clean, well-equipped, and friendly place to stay, this is definitely it. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Great location in the centre of the village. Clean and tidy and great value. It was out of season so I had the whole floor to myself. Angela, the owner, was very helpful especially with advice about driving conditions.

Great place to stay! It felt like home - to be honest even better :) Very clean and tidy and the location was very peaceful. We saw Arctic Henge from our room and northern lights from the bed without having to get out of it :) All about it was lovely, highly recommended!

“A cozy little place in the North of Iceland.”

This is a great little place to stay at if you want to visit the north of Iceland. Our room was very clean and spacious. The check-in and check-out process was also very smooth and simple. The property is conveniently located at walking distance from the Arctic Henge which is an amazing place to get pictures of the Aurora at night.

The owner was very nice and helpful. As usual, the aurora appears again to us, we were running to and for across the street like children

Our rest in the nest What do you do when you're travelling by bike in Iceland and the forecast for the next day is really heavy rain? You look for somewhere to stay and take a rest day. We didn't expect to find such a nice refuge in Raufarhöfn. OK, the building isn't particularly inviting from the outside, but as soon as you set foot inside, you're in a home far from home. Thanks to the owners of this surprisingly beautiful place, you'll find everything your heart desires: a cosy bed, a well-equipped kitchen - but above all friendliness, helpfulness and hospitality.
