The hotel is very well kept and simple enough to enjoy a good stay. The staff is extremely helpful and kind and ready to assist with any need. Sampa, especially, went above and beyond to provide tailored guidance to show us around Ratnapura.

This is a really good hotel that could be a great hotel. The rooms were clean, the A/C worked well and the staff were lovely. Sampa, the guide who kinda comes with the place was exceptional and made the stay here, for very reasonable extra costs. He tailors the experience to the visitor and is very quick to read what you want and don’t want.. in other words he’s not pushing you to buy stones from anyone, but is happy to bring you to the stone market. He seems to know everyone and all seem to respect and like him - which is a really good sign

“Basic rooms for one night stay”

Staff took our suitcases down to the hotel for us as we could not access the hotel with our van. Location is a bit out of the way but very well signposted. Rooms are very basic: we had to ask for a top sheet for the beds, there was no hot water and one room had a leaking/unusable toilet. A/C worked well and our rooms were together as requested. It was fine for one night and the value for money.

“Owner is amazing, and a great spot to stay!”

We were travelling in the area and required somewhere to stay. Booking a room was easy, and we were welcomed on arrival by the owner, who was very welcoming and invited us in. We were offered tea or coffee, while our bags were taken to our room. The room was very comfortable, with all the required facilities, and even had a nice balcony to relax on. Plenty of parking for our tuk tuk, and the owner was able to give us plenty of advice on all the great places to visit in the area, showing us photos of the waterfalls and gem mines in the area. Definitely a great place to stay if you are in the area!

A Modern European standard a hotel. Without Sampa I don’t think my experience would be as good. He really knows all the spots & can make you smile regardless :)
