Overview
Just 5 minutes’ drive from Muri Beach, Tropical Sands offers accommodation with a large terrace and ocean or garden views. Enjoy free bicycle rental. The tour desk books lagoon cruises, scuba diving, snorkelling trips and cultural dinners with traditional dancing. Whale watching cruises are available between July and October. All self-contained accommodation features a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, microwave and refrigerator. A fan, TV is provided and DVD players are available on request. Both hosts are talented artists and their artwork is displayed in the gallery and gift shop. Wi-Fi and airport transfers are available for an extra cost. From Tropical Sands Villas, it is a 5-minute drive to central Muri where a range of beachfront restaurants, shops and cafés can be found. Rarotonga International Airport is 15 minutes’ drive away.

“Authentic rustic getaway”
Location, Peaceful, quiet, picturesque atmosphere, friendly non intrusive talented hosts. The amazing sunsets every morning. Very convenient to KAPS, Villis burgers and short walk to the Avana and Muri strip. Amazing Mediterranean restaurant next door. Chickens, roosters, crabs and geckos!

“I won’t be back.”
The property was located in a nice quiet area, close to a couple of eateries and a shop. Lovely views and close to the beach, even if you can’t swim due to rocks. Rustic feel.

Rudy and his wife were amazing. I would definitely recommend Tropical Sands. When you've been out all day exploring the island this little paradise is ideal to come back to, quiet and tranquil next to the beach.

“Idyllic”
The compound was so well laid out it was easy to access the beach. The art work around the compound was so lovely, the garden so well kept and the room was spacious. Our hosts were wonderful. Highly recommend Tropical Sands.

Awesome little cabin on a stunning beach, everything we needed, incredible sunrises, lovely hosts, great location just a couple of km from the main Muri beach and night markets. We had an amazing trip.

I thought the views of the sea were pretty, especially sitting on the deck. Easy bus stops to get around and a yummy burger joint and a supermarket just a 2 min walk away

We really enjoyed our time here, two friends so one queen and one single worked well for us Every morning waking up to sunrise , Ruby and Kanoa were great hosts We had everything we needed , there is a great place to get supplies close by and a cocktail lounge next door

The hosts were really helpful, and obviously loved living in this amazing location. They seemed to enjoy the sights of the passing whales as much as we did. The oceanside location was fabulous. It didn't matter at all that it wasn't a swimming beach, as there were plenty of other opportunities on the island for swimming and snorkelling. The tracks of the hermit crabs on the sand were interesting. The self catering unit was spacious, had a fabulous deck. The laid back atmosphere suited us much better than going to a 'resort.'
