Terri and her daughter were so welcoming. we arrived late into Rovanemini not realising we should’ve have bought food as every near to the property would be closed, and they brought us food. One of the absolute highlights was the unforgettable Northern Lights snowmobile tour, which we booked at a good price. Our stay at Villa Huilinki was an unforgettable winter escape. The super friendly host welcomed us personally on December 31st, even buying groceries for us in advance so we could enjoy a perfect New Year’s Eve. The location was a dream, nestled in the quiet woods by a frozen lake, offering complete peace and serenity. We were incredibly lucky to witness the northern lights on our first night! The villa was warm, cozy, and comfortable, featuring a Jacuzzi and two amazing saunas—an electric one inside and a traditional wood-fired sauna by the lake. We also tried ice fishing, with the host kindly providing all the gear for us. For a few days, we had our own private winter paradise, with no one around—just nature, tranquility, and relaxation. It was an absolute dream, and we highly recommend Villa Huilinki for an unforgettable getaway! A huge thank you to our amazing host for the warm welcome and all the thoughtful gestures. You truly made our stay unforgettable! 🙏

This is a hiden gem.Villa has everything you need, a sauna in the villa and one out,near the jacuzzi.We fed the reindeer with host's help,there are a lot of wild reindeer near the area. The view of the lake is beautiful and if u have luck you can see the northen lights near the cabin. If you want to visit Santa , Rovaniemi is in 1h 30' away. We had an extraordinary time and hope to come back soon.

“We had an amazing stay!”

Very amazing house in the middle of nowhere. The view is perfect with a lot of equipments to use. The host was very nice! It is clean and confortable for the family with kids. There are lots of toys for kids. The jacuzzi was a luxury. We saw the northern lights on our second night until the morning at 6am just outside the cabin. We hope to come back in a warmer season.

“Very beautiful, child-friendly and pleasant place.”

This was our second stay. It was even better than our first with the addition of four Reindeers which we could feed with food provided by Terhi. We love the villa and remote location. We especially love the peace, the scenery, the sunrises, frozen lake at your doorstep, hot tub to fire up each night and sit and look at the stars (or Northern lights, if you are lucky - we saw a strong show on our last night (Terhi sent us a message to alert us) and weaker show on the horizon on 2 or 3 other nights). WE also enjoyed walking to the river to watch the sunsets and try fishing (fishing equipment is available in the garage). And visited the sledging hill at Honkivaara near Ranua 3 times during our stay - using the Kota's there to warm up, cook sausages and marshmallows with the free wood provided. The villa interior was as lovely as before, with comfy beds, excellent heating, great sauna and beautiful views. I love the coffee machine and waffle maker. There are now two double beds downstairs and a new sofa (plus two single beds) upstairs + PlayStation 4, as well as Xbox 360, which my boys loved. There were even more sledges, snow shoes, ski shoes this year + the usual small hill next to the lake for sledging.

“The highlight of our stay in Finland”

A lovely mökki in a very private location by a lake. The owners came to meet us and explained everything, even which berries are the best to pick. There was so much to do (from hot tub through an outside sauna to a sup board, and much more) that we hardly wanted to go out and see things. Spent two super pleasant days there and hope to come back some day.

“Peaceful stay”

Location is very nice, calm and peaceful area, next to very big lake. Definitely nice at summertime too! But you need your own transportation, to move around the more rural area. House was more than excellent, big, nice interior and had everything you need for the stay. Even ground coffee for the machine, tea, candies etc. Warm, cozy and convenient. Outdoor sauna and hot tub is big bonus. Hosts were super nice and helpful, explained everything, when we arrived and were happy to answer all questions at any time. We also saw some auroras, when we turned the lights off!! Overall so good, would like to stay there again.

Very nice remote place with direct Access to the Lake.

We loved our stay at Villa Huilinki. It looks even better in real life than we were expecting. The hosts met us and explained how everything worked in detail, plus they were on hand to answer messages. The Villa is well equipped - great WIFI, endless bathroom and cleaning supplies, condiments in the kitchen and many kitchen gadgets + plates/glasses etc. I loved the coffee machine! Lots of extra pillows, duvets and toys/games for the children. My two boys were so pleased with the Xbox in the loft room, this was their special room! Beds were comfy and the villa was always warm. We loved the sauna also. We used the hot tub, which fills up quicker than expected and probably took about 5/6 hours to warm up with a continual fire lit - this was in minus 15 temperatures! We found it beneficial to light the wood burner in the summer house also, for a place to dry off and get changed once you had finished in the hot tub. Plenty of firewood was provided. There were also sledges, ski shoes, ice fishing equipment, a play house with toy kitchen, hammocks, a fire pit and swings (we didn't use these as the snow was 3 feet deep so covered the swing seats!). The owners had made a hill to sledge down and on to the lake. The lake was safe to walk on at this time of the year, although walk left, not right as the river melts the lake to the right. Sunsets (from the separate river-side hut, 5 minutes walk from the house), sunrises over the lake and the starry skies are stunning here, you can see the milky way. We also saw the northern lights from the hot tub and on another 2 nights, whilst using my camera on the frozen lake, the lake making the strangest noises underfoot as the ice expanded at minus 30 - it was just magical, I will never forget it and am still missing it a week after leaving. We hope to return some day. (one last thing, you would need a car here, it is 25/30 minutes drive to the shop and took us 1hour30 to get to Rovaniemi).

A gorgeous villa with everything you need for your vacation. We felt great and we would come back anytime. The location on the edge of the lake is fabulous. A beautiful sight that I will never forget. Thanks to the hosts for everything!

“Just perfect!”

It’s a beautiful villa surrounded by a wonderful nature. Very clean and comfortable with lots of activities that you can do with the family. We really liked the sauna, hot tub, nature walks. The children very much enjoyed sled rides down the hill, playground. Very nice and attentive hosts. We had a fantastic winter break, and hope to come back again.

Everything was above expectations. We really enjoyed every single moment in the house. We will definitely recommend to our friends.
