“The best hidden gem in all Sri Lanka”

Everything. I was supposed to be there for only one night but I ended up spending three as I've really enjoyed my stay here. The place is incredible, wonderful people and great food. One of my favorite places ever in Sri Lanka

“Small but complete and warm stay with helpful host”

The property is located right on the beach, allowing you to dive into the same whenever you wish. Though small, it offers complete facilities and services, with Hawaiian-style exterior design that creates a relaxing atmosphere by the shore. While the host’s family spoke limited English, they made excellent use of the technology to communicate, and the host himself spoke English well and provided delicious meals throughout our stay. Room: A striking painting of sea turtle above the bed brought the room to life. Its spacious layout easily accommodated multiple suitcases and even allowed space for yoga. Unfortunately, the host informed me of an air-conditioner failure only an hour before my arrival, leaving little time to adjust plans. He sincerely apologized and arranged a fan, but the poor ventilation made the night uncomfortable due to humidity and heat. The next morning, the host quickly contacted the maintenance. Although the air-conditioner was still not working, we were able to rest later in the day, enjoying one of the most relaxing naps of our trip. Aside from that issue, the furniture was new and well maintained. The room was equipped with refrigerator, kettle, and kitchenware, adding convenience to the stay. Bed: If the air-conditioner was well functioned, the bed must be the best part you won’t want to leave. 2 Sockets were located at your bedside. Bathroom: embedded inside the room, clean, tidy, provided the soap only. More towels were provided for sunbathing and swimming on the beach. Food: The host was so nice to prepare us the food when we arrived late at 9pm Carpark: Just park somewhere not to block the road is fine View: Few hammocks are provided outside the restaurant. We truly appreciated the host and his family’s warm welcome, which made our stay comfortable. Staying with local family offers a deeper understanding of their culture, habits and their friendship – somethings you simply don’t experience in a hotel lacking genuine warmth.

This is the most amazing place at the beach I have ever visited. It has an ocean view from your room and the beach is so quiet. And the restaurant at the property felt like a private chef. The owner was so kind to arrange a bird safari for us, which was so peaceful. This might be the best place to visit at the beginning or start of your holiday. I highly recommend this to everyone.

“Hidden gem of the south coast.”

Most wonderful location from our travels in Sri Lanka. Situated on what is practically a private beach. Hanging coconut trees, singing birds, fresh fruits and amazing service from the staff (family run place). We enjoyed yoga sessions and a fishing trip with local fishermen during our stay, all arranged by the owner. Great breakfasts that varies from day to day.

The Owner is super friendly and helpful, the food is amazing, and the location is even better, a perfect place if you want to relax and enjoy the nature around you. A definite recommendation.

The local host Mich and his family are super helpful and hospitable. The food is delicious home-style cooking on site. It's ideal very quiet location away from cars and discos. At night total silence is bliss!

“Paradiso Privato”

I stayed with my friend in this fabulous property with direct access to the beach. It seemed like being in a private paradise. In fact, in addition to the super cozy room, with hot water, air conditioning and super clean, they had access to the outdoor area equipped with deck chairs and a hammock surrounded by greenery and peace. The owner, the boy and the lady who worked there were super nice and friendly, always available for our every need. Even their dog Rocco, stayed with us all night to keep us company while we enjoyed the sound of the waves. It was one of the best moments spent in Sri Lanka.

A unique place, one of a kind. The food was delicious. The views and empty beach are something worth experiencing in this place. Very nice people. If you're in the area, be sure to make a reservation.

A very good small house on the beach. It's well equipped and has a good and quiet location with several good restaurants nearby. The staff was nice and helpful.

“Relaxing stay at Waves Cabana”

The host was very friendly and prepared two wonderful and very delicious breakfasts for us. These were some of the best we had our entire stay in Sri Lanka and some of the foods we had never tried before, but were positively surprised by. It was very calm at Waves Cabana and it is a lovely place to relax.

Lovely studio set just back from the beach in a quiet and beautiful area. It’s was so wonderful to be in such a quiet and serene location with the waves the only sound. Nish is a fantastic host and the food was both delicious and plentiful. He very kindly organised a Sri Lankan cookery class with him and his Mum, also got to eat it afterwards, yum. The beach is stunning and had a few plays in the waves although a little rough to swim. Also had a yoga class a few minutes away which was hard but felt great after.
