There was a problem with ants in both rooms. One room did have the ant traps, but the other did not have any. We only stayed one night, but there was no instructions on how to check out and since it was a Sunday morning when we left there were no people anywhere and I was not able to reach anyone on the provided mobile numbers. Luckily they did respond to Booking.com messages platform and we were able to come to an understanding on what to do with the keys. This did cause some friction and delay in getting underway again.

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, even with broken German. Definitely give their restaurant across the road a try as well.

Nothing. They canceled our rooms when we arrived. The owner hanged the phone call and refused to explain to us how to at least get the money back. He was very impolite.

“Didn't want to leave :)”
Accomodation was perfect and homely. Dogs very much at home. Low season so no other guests. Really convenient for walking in the forest, or visits to local towns, Rheinfalls and Switzerland.

“Charming hotel and room”
Nice to see the history behind this building, cozy old german style. It's located on a good location near the rhine river and not far from bodensee. Friendly owner and staff. Everything was clean during our short stay.

the rooms were across the road from the restaurant. for the price, there is nothing to complain about . But the MISERABLE welcome ( or lack of welcome) from the blonde woman in the restaurant kinda set a bad tone for the experience.

A very strange sense of hospitality The owner is bashing at the door like a maniac at 9.30 am. To tell you to pay and leave... Even before the supposed check out... Never experienced something similar. Absolutely crazy !!

Breakfast was basic but good. When we arrived there was no one at the reception, had to wait for over an hour before someone arrived. The restaurant was over the road from the hotel and it was the most expensive meal and also the worst meal that we had on our holiday. Keep away from this hotel.
