Everything was amazing. From the moment we were personally greeted and shown to our room we were impressed. The grounds are stunning, full of old world charm but with all the creature comforts you’d expect from such a property. We are at all four restaurants and drank the wine - the quality was exceptional. We also loved spending quiet time on the grounds which are so special.

The location, in the village of Volpaia, is excellent. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Big thanks to Martina in the restaurant for your excellent service. Good that they have private car parking for residents. Netflix TV was a bonus.

Our stay at Castello di Volpaia was pure magic - not just because of the breathtaking views and charming medieval village, but because of the incredible team who made us feel truly at home. From the moment we arrived, Fabio, Francesco, and Lorenzo went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. Their warmth, humor, and passion for this special place bring Volpaia to life. Fabio welcomed us with such genuine kindness, Francesco shared stories and recommendations that only a true local could offer, and Lorenzo’s enthusiasm made our wine tasting one of the highlights of our trip. The rooms are beautiful, the views over the Chianti hills are spectacular, and breakfast on the terrace feels like a postcard come to life - but it’s the people who make this place truly exceptional. Castello di Volpaia isn’t just a destination; it’s an experience - one filled with heart, history, and hospitality at its finest. We left with full hearts (and a few bottles of wine, of course) and can’t wait to return.

The location is fantastic and the village of Volpaia was magic. There are 2 excellent restaurants and a bar/cafe. We liked the way our room was divided into a bedroom and completely separate bathroom and dressing room. Beautiful grounds and swimming pool.

A truly magical stay in the heart of Chianti! The views are absolutely stunning, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. You’re staying right inside a historic winery, peaceful, beautifully maintained, and spotlessly clean. It’s the perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy authentic Tuscany. You definitely need a car to get here, but the drive and scenery make it completely worth it

“A beautiful accommodation amidst a medieval town”

The accommodation itself is situated in a beautiful medieval town as the owners tried to preserve as much of it's heritage as possible. If you enjoy staying within heritage whilst still having the convenience of the modern world, this is probably the perfect place for you. Imagine listening to the fallow deers ballowing at night during mating season and the chirping of the birds greeting you in the morning as you enjoy the cool morning breeze. This is really a great place to wind down. The staff speaks very good English and does not hesitate to give you a few tips on places to eat at the nearby towns as well.

What a place and brilliant food in the Osteria. Very comfortable room and great view. Very honestly friendly and helpful with all. I am very happy we changed to the suite, as a dream place too stay.

“Wonderful accommodation in a fantastic location”

Although we were late arriving, Lorenzo was very efficient and accommodating. Donika was waiting for us as we drew up in the square, and kindly showed us to our beautiful room, and made sure our reservation at the restaurant was kept open. We had a wonderful stay - so good to return to the area after nine years and to find it still as amazing as we remembered it! The room was full of character - clean and tidy, with a comfortable bed and a lovely view - and breakfast on the terrace was excellent. What more do you need?! We shall definitely be returning!
