Really lovely and accommodating staff and a great value place to stay overall. We stayed a total of 4 times while in Ecuador and really appreciated the two kitchens and easy luggage storage.

Lovely place to stay in Quito. Clean, comfortable rooms, quiet and in a good location of the city. Staff are very available and helpful.

We enjoyed our stay at Colonial House. Central location close to the Historic Centre, good places to eat and drink nearby and we loved Luna greeting us every time we came back!

People who are running this house are very nice. They are talkative and helpful. Also the breakfast is good. The property has nice yard, also billiard and books to read. Heaters were available and we found them handy.

Staff were excellent and very helpful and accommodating. Beds were comfy. Breakfast was very good and they even came in through to change towels and clean the bathroom, decor it only being a 3 night stay. Facilities were excellent and lots of help and advice available for all.

Great location, lovely staff, really comfortable

I liked how cozy and homey was the place. The employees made us feel like home immediately. It is such a relaxing and comfortable place!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast and you can grind your own coffee. Nice common area. In the room you have an electric heater and blow dryer they can provide.

The room was a different one than the pictures but it was still spacious and we had two double beds instead of 3 singles but were only 2 people, so it was fine. The location was central yet quiet and peaceful. There is free coffee and tea making facilities and enough kitchen space to make your own meals. Breakfast is available at the property for 3,50$ which I didn't try though. There are instruments, a pool table and cute garden, little reading corners and a TV room to hang out in. We were not very social but there were other travellers around, having bonfires on occasion yet still respectfully quiet at night. All in all a great location for solo or groups if you are not relying on the hostel offering activities but can socialise yourself or want some alone time. Comfortable beds and cute dog and rabbit living there too :)

“Good value stay for a night or two in Quito”

Comfortable beds and spacious room.

My friend and I stayed here twice on the same vacation. The staff is very hardworking and they will always help you with whatever (booking tours, recommending what to do in Quito, and what busses to take). We booked the double bed both times we went here (because it was cheaper) but the hostel upgraded us to a room with two singles for the same price each time. The hostel is very close to a main bus station that can take you wherever in Quito. If you visit this beautiful capital I highly recommend you staying at the Colonial House inn.

“A perfect base for exploring Quito”

Our hosts were superb, and we loved joining in for the New Years Celebrations! The breakfasts there were always delicious (we met someone passing through Quito who popped by to have the breakfast again!) As we stayed for about a week, they very kindly upgraded our room which was so appreciated. We also stored some of our things there for a week while hiking in the Andes. Highlights of our stay included the location, lovely animals, the reading nook, the NYE party, and the garden. 10/10, we look forward to returning.
