It's more of an Airbnb than a booking, there is 1 room available in a beautiful old colonial house, close to the center but in a quiet part of the town. Moreover, Jenny is a very nice person, the communication was great, I felt like at home. I highly recommend it

The best place in Quito!

Fantastically wonderful hosts! I liked absolutely everything. Perfect location, very close to the bus station and the historic center. Quiet area, on the nearest street there is a wonderful panderia with delicious pastries. The house is authentic and cozy, excellent kitchen, which has everything. But the most important thing is the incredibly hospitable, kind and helpful hosts. The best! Help with all questions. Dear Gilad! Thank you so much for helping with my big problem. You saved me! I sincerely wish for Casa Vieja prosperity and only best! You are forever in my heart ❤️

2nd stay at Casa Vieja

My 2nd, great value, stay at Casa Vieja was marred by a bout of flu and I barely left my room for a few days. I actually extended my stay by a week. Jenny and her boys were kind and attentive and nursed me back to health. Jenny makes some great soups! Hot showers, a well equipped kitchen, good WiFi and a great bed all contributed to another comfortable stay at Casa Vieja. The house has a quirky, traditional feel, which I find appealing and the location is great for access to shops, restaurants, transport links and of course, the historic centre. The C1 bus stop for the airport (via terminal carcelén) is only a 5 minute walk away and a Tuti supermarket about 10 mins. (Out the house, turn left and down the steps). The area is perfectly safe. Itchimbia Parque is close and worth a visit for some great views of the city and has a good jogging path (1.8km circuit). Would I stay here again? I could quite happily live at Casa Vieja. 🙂 Thanks for looking after me guys.

5 days at Casa Vieja

Some hosts and staff are helpful and polite because reviews matter but Jenny is a genuinely kind and thoughtful person. Her sons are polite and respecful. I felt immediately very welcome at Casa Vieja. Best WiFi I have had in South America, no issues at all. Hot shower too (turn on at switch next to shower and turn off after use). Towel provided. Jenny offered me a couple of local snacks to try. Cheese and figs, who knew? Tasty. Kitchen is well equipped and although it is shared with the family this was never an issue. I don't know whether it was by design or coincidence but when I used it I had it to myself. I suspect Jenny vacates it for a couple of hours in the evening. Itchimbia Park is close (15 mins walk) and is worth a visit for great views of the city and mountains. It has a good running/ walking track and I recommend walking around it if you have time. (about 1.5km). Casa Vieja is at the bottom of a closed street and very quiet. The house does require some maintenance and decorating but for me it just added to the character and doesn't affect your comfortability. My room and the kitchen were Immaculately clean. Short walk (10 mins) on safe streets to the historic centre with a couple of good restaurants and plenty of street food even closer. There is a communal lounge and a small but pleasant terrace. I will be going back to the house as my Quilota, Pichincha and Cotopaxi treks were rained off. Safe travels.

Genuine home stay

Jenny and her family are extremely welcoming. This is a genuine home stay with an amazing host which is quite rare. I spent 4 nights doing all the touristy things in Quito and easily the highlight was meeting Jenny and her family. Also great value for money.

Incredibly friendly!

Jenny is absolutely amazing! She makes this place. She is a very friendly host, who welcomed us with tea and biscuits. She joined us for a local restaurant for dinner and made us dessert of figs and cheese. There are also fruit and sweets in the room. The house belongs to her family, and is a very old traditional house within an internal courtyard. This allows for a very warm and friendly atmosphere. Beds were comfortable, there was free filtered water, and the bathroom was large.

Lovely homestay with a caring host

Homestay with loving and caring host Jenny and her 3 boys and grandpa. Facilities are dated but works well. I enjoyed music in the hall and Jenny made pure vegetarian local dishes which was a treat. Area is safe and close to center with access to 🚎 and busses.

Jenny was super welcoming and flexible with check-in. I was very tired when I arrived and she made me a tea which was very sweet. I ended up having a room all to myself which was a lovely surprise. A really comfortable stay overall!

I liked the house, an old colonial house, restored and decorated with love and taste. The location is pretty good, near the central market and 10 minutes walking from the center of Quito. The room is clean and well equipped, the materasse is super comfortable and the room has even a refrigerador inside. I really appreciate that Jenny made me found some fresh fruits and a welcome tea! I liked the private bathroom, clean and spacious, with hot water, shampoo, towels and even candles at disposal of the guests. I liked the familiar atmosphere, and every little details that made my stay there absolutely unique. I need to mention also that the house has a very strong and quick wifi and a shared kitchen where guests can prepare simple meals. There is also a small terrace where guests can relax and chill. Thanks Jenny, you and your sons are making a great job! Keep it up :D
