Very helpful owners who realised we had walked away from the Camino to stay with them and arranged a taxi to take us back to the Camino the following day. Rooms were very good and included a mini fridge and kettle.

“Hotel Rural Quintanapalla is very good value for money”

I stayed at Hotel Rural Quintanapalla while walking the Camino Francés in March 2026. When I arrived in San Juan de Ortega, one of the proprietors kindly offered to collect me for €20 (one way), which was very helpful after a long day’s walking. This is an additional service the proprietor offers. The same arrangement was available for the return journey the following morning. The proprietor also runs the restaurant in the same building, and the meal was excellent. Overall, I would recommend this property, especially for Camino pilgrims, as accommodation in San Juan de Ortega can be quite limited.

Sara, the owner is super friendly and accomodating. Great stop over heading north or south. Bar restaurant below is great that locals use, good food and drinks...Sara owns the bar too and works it.

Comfortable and very clean. Super place to stay on route to Spain /Portugal or returning via France. Loved walking around this little lovely village.

Our room was spacious and exceptionally clean. The beds were very comfortable. Dinner was delicious and well priced.

Lovely to have pick up and drop back to and from San Juan de Ortega for 20 euros each way. I had contacted the property about a transfer and they got in touch at about 5pm of that day. As we had walked all day on the camino and had booked this property because there was no accommodation available in San Juan, it was such a relief not to have 2 hours more walking. To make it perfect, if they had assured me of taxi availability I would have been less anxious.

Lovely food, ideal location for ferry.

We had an evening meal but we did not have breakfast. Our room was lovely and very comfortable. The character of the little .village as well as the character of the property was really lovely

Old building, lovely renovated rooms in a really authentic rural spanish village. The rooms were truly sqeaky clean and the beds, the linen & towels of high quality. Even in the heat wave, it was bearable inside the rooms due to the immensely thick walls and the help of a quiet fan. The overnight accommodation is right above the bar/tavern which could have been too noisy, but we found it to be just jolly, no excessively loud noises and once the window was closed we heard nothing.

Pleasent room with adequate facilties and good broadband.
