I rarely write reviews of hotels I stay in, but this time I felt compelled. In the days leading up to my stay, I had read terrible things about this lodge, and I confess that my wife and I were a little worried. I'm writing to say that we actually had a wonderful time. The property is stunning, in a stunning location, the rooms aren't as small as some people say, they're not dirty, and we ate very well. The internet is free for 90 minutes, but we're on vacation, it’s a good thing! According to me: this is the real american lodging experience!

“Terrible price/quality ratio”

This hotel really needs to change their price/quality ratio. The room that we paid €170 for is very small and the beds are squeeky and terrible for your back. Windows and walls were dirty. Lights dont go out in the hallway at night which bothered us. Also walls are so thin you here everything and everyone. Staff did the bare minimum. Wifi is paid after 30 minutes of use. Either lower your pricing or fix these shortcomings. Everything in your lodge screams that you are cheap and will do only the bare minimum because you have no competetors in your surrounding. Location was beautiful.

Fantastic spot ruined by some weird touches. No housekeeping. Pay $16 for 5GB Wi-Fi … it’s 2025 and the Wi-Fi is on anyway. Why make us pay? Having paid, discovered Wi-Fi didn’t work in our bit of the hotel anyway. Would be nice to inform guests. Same goes for informing about washed out nearby road .. it felt like there was a general lack of regard or interest in guests having a good time. Some, not all, restaurant staff grumpy and rude. If you ask for a table expect a pointless wait while they ‘set a place’ then when you do eventually make it in notice about 8 places already set. Wait again then get fed up and ask to order only to be told ‘I’m not your server’. I don’t care who my server is .. I just want to order. Repetitive and expensive menu, but food pretty good if lacking in fruit or vegetables. Could I leave a bag for a few hours? Nope. Nowhere to store such a thing I was told .. but the place is huge!? Instead I had to risk leaving my bag full of laptop, camera stuff etc in back of car in a deserted lay-by. Could I extend my checkout? 30 mins MAX. But the housekeeping staff I spoke to said there was no rush from their side and for me to take my time.
