“Perfect stay, excellent host”
Maria and her family were very kind and helpful. The room was immaculately clean and i had a heater to stay warm. breakfast was also really good. Perfect location 1 min walk away from the mirador, trail down to the lake and many restaurants, cafes etc.

“A bit run-down but comfortable”
We booked a “deluxe suite,” which came with a king size bed, fluffy pillows, and a cozy comforter, as well as our own bathroom and a wood stove in the room. The room was spacious and the stove heated it up to make it cozy. The women working at the hostel were friendly when they were around. The food from the restaurant/at breakfast was plentiful and good.

Amazing place!! Hosteria Alpaka is run by a lovely woman who was so kind to us during our stay. She helped us with anything we needed and was very accommodating, preparing a take away breakfast for our last day as we were departing very early. Our shoes also got soaked on the hike to Quilotoa and she helped us dry them by putting up a fire. On the first day, before the start of the trek, we arrived to the hostel too late to have dinner anywhere and she made us some hot empanadas. Really 5 stars service. The rooms are huge and the bed is super comfy! They gave us a heater for the room which worked super well. Great hot shower also. Delicious breakfasts with everything you can wish for - fruit, eggs and bread and pancakes with muesli.

“Fantastic stay, highly recommended!”
What a great place! We absolutely loved it, the room was spacious and clean, the bed was huge and comfy and the family who runs the place are the kindest people ever. Breakfast was also fantastic and the hostel is a short walking distance from the Quilotoa crater lake. Great value for money, Highly recommended!!
