This was the best place our family stayed at while traveling in Costa Rica! Absolutely beautiful area. The view from the room was fantastic, The hike to the river/waterfall was fun, and my son did a horseback riding class which we loved! I highly recommend it to anyone!

“Perfect Jungle Reserve stay”

Worth repeating from other reviews: superb location...large and spacious jungle clearing with pool/jacuzzi, horses, chickens, pineapple plantation amongst other good things. Host Markus was very welcoming and accommodating at all times. Included breakfast was excellent and optional dinners too. Open air poolside dining area was lovely with opportunity to meet other guests or enjoy your own privacy. I and my 2 adult children enjoyed meeting guests from UK, Channel Is, Germany, Canada, US. Accom (Casa Antonio detached private villa ) basic but had everything we needed. Excellent WiFi. Aircon in the bedrooms. Able to take short walk through the reserve to find and bathe in waterfalls/natural pools. A truly unique and wonderful experience. Property is c.15 minute drive from the main road on an unsealed/unlit road. Road in good condition compared with some around Monteverde. An excellent 4 nights and thoroughly recommended. Easy road/car access to local attractions. (Mixed feelings about MA NP. Took us an hour of queuing to get in for our 0730 guided tour on a Wed (after pre supplying passport numbers/verification etc). Was very very busy and the crowds far outnumbered the wildlife. Did see the monkeys though. Beaches lovely but one very busy. Think twice before going. Can do better elsewhere IMHO. Was great to get back to the peace and quiet of the hacienda.) Biesanz beach worth a trip.

Overall great atmosphere, true oasis in the middle of the rainforest,, very clean, great pool, good breakfast, we loved Ellie the house dog! Highly recommended

Around 30 mins. away from Quepos, really quiet, only sounds you hear come from the nature surrounding the Hacienda. We were there for one night just before we left Costa Rica again. Our apartment was really spacious and clean. Also breakfast was really good, you can choose from three different options and they also serve dinner. If you spend more time there you can book a guided tour through the forest or do some horse riding!

Simply outstanding. Brilliant host. Fresh cooked undercover breakfast by the pool each day. Great walking trails to rivers and waterfalls which you can swim in. Full of wildlife. Home cooked dinner a few evenings. About 30 minutes from Quepos and 20 minutes from Damas island / mangrove tours. A unique place to stay.

Amazing grounds to explore, multiple trails and spots to go in the river. Room was lovely and spacious and had everything we needed. The view out of the window and from the balcony was incredible

“Truly a thousand beauties”

A fantastic place! We stayed for three nights at the bungalow which we really recommend-It seemed newly built, was spotless and with a good AC. We never left the property as there are several jungle trails you can explore and fantastic waterfalls with natural pools to swim in. Many birds, frogs, flowers. We had breakfast and dinner at the property and all meals were amazing-the tortilla at breakfast was the best I had in Costa Rica. Markus is a great host and an amazing cook! Our favorite part were the animals and especially the dogs. On our last morning, we went for a last swim at the natural pools with Ely, and we had a blast. Highly recommended!
