“Excellent stay in stunning surroundings”

We stayed in the apartment, super clean and comfortable, lovely balcony. The exceptional memory is the restaurant area. The staff put out bananas and the most amazing collection of birds, differt species of Toucan included and squirrels come to eat. In the forest behind we saw squirrel monkeys and morpho butterflies and multicoloured birds of prey. The staff are exceptionally nice and the food served is great. Highly recommend

“Great location could use improvement”

Room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Was good to have quiet aircon. The fridge , rice cooker, microwave and electric pan were great to have as the breakfast and dinner were mediocre. The trail around the place is a nice walk.

“Gorgeous views!”

It is an amazing place to stay. We woke up to one the most beautiful views we’ve ever seen. Visited during the dry season which made it possible to drive up the last part of the road (unpaved) with our small non4x4 car.

“Magical place with incredible amount of birds”

Fantastic stay. Placed in beautiful calm area. We have seen tucans and a lot of other birds. It was no sense to visit Manuel Antonio Park, where we met only hundreds of people and no animals. This place is far, far better and it is not a joke. Very tasty breakfast and dinner, very helpful personel. Very clean cabins with amazing views, very clean bathrooms and toilets. I would like to rate this place much over 10

The location and overall vibe of the hotel was very cool. It's in the rainforest and they prioritize bird watching. This is truly a unique place to stay.

Great place with a great view. The huts are very cozy and comfy.

A great, peaceful retreat for oneself but with an added bonus of plenty of birds (toucans, hummingbirds, euphonias, etc.). If you are a bird enthusiast, I shall highly recommend. Great view of the mountains and sunrise. Staff were particularly helpful with knowledge of birds but also accomodating to our requests and treated the accomodation as their home (unlike hotel chains).

Good food, great cabins, lovely way to get back to nature with some added luxury like a good bed and shower

It was a most interesting place to visit and stay. The scenery, nature, birds, flowers--it was all a WOW experience. I loved it and so relaxing. Also, meeting the other people who stayed there was fun and we learned about the waterfalls and hikes nearby. The breakfast and dining hall was a great meeting place. We chose to come back each night and ate there as well as breakfast. The food was fresh and really good. The manager, Giselle, was so helpful and welcoming. Anyone who loves birds should plan a visit here and to hike the property. The nearby waterfalls are lovely and refreshing. We especially liked that it wasn't over crowded and a privately owned estate. We didn't see the owner's coffee farm, but bought some to take home. We got to enjoy the local coffee for breakfast.

Absolutely unique and amazing place! I can only highly recommend. Great for watching hummingbirds and toucans, delicious meals, very kind and smiling people. You can choose usual shower or open one with forest view. And the view from the longe…!

Our stay in the quadruple room with a Mountain View at Esquipulas was an idyllic retreat, offering the serenity and beauty of a chalet-like setting. The room itself was well-equipped, featuring a kitchen complete with coffee and a coffeemaker that allowed us to enjoy delicious local coffee each morning. The seating area and large patio with a hammock provided the perfect spots for relaxation and taking in the stunning mountain views. The peacefulness was further enhanced by the soothing sounds of a nearby waterfall and the diverse birdlife, making it an ideal spot for bird watching and embracing the natural environment. The staff’s super helpful and supportive nature, along with their sensitivity to dietary requirements, ensured our stay was both comfortable and enjoyable.

“Excellent value for money, very nice staff and a nice experience close to nature”

The view from the tipi in the morning is amazing and the flair overall is awesome. You are very close to nature and a bit away from civilization - so it’s very calm and you can listen to the nature. One of the most amazing things was the breakfast where you could watch many many different birds on the feeding station - we saw more birds here than in any guided tour

wonderful place. I loved watching toucans during breakfast. nice teeepees. all clean and fresh. view from the shower to the forest. Location above the river. very nice people. I wish them much more happy visitors. This place deserve it. Thank you for having us
