Staff were welcoming on arrival, room was very clean and had an awesome view. Squash courts and gym were also great. Close to bus stop too.

Room was not ready when we got there (we arrived well after set arrival time), the cocktail made while waiting was very poorly made, glass 1/4 full, tasted nothing like a margarita, rim was not salted or sugared. Facilities were very old and run down. Gym had pins missing from weight stacks, pool was tepid/cold and needed more chlorine. The cleaners entered our room at 9am without permission! (Checkout was 10am) They apologised and left but did not allow us to answer door. They knocked and entered in the same second! There was no elevator, stairwells were narrow, shower tile broken underfoot and mould in corners of bathroom and showering area. No minibar, only basic facilities for a cuppa. Only enough milk for one person for one cup of tea. The balcony was small (much smaller than pictures for executive suite) and the area covered in black mould and moss etc. It needed a good waterblast. The outside spa was a bath embedded into old splintered wood. Nothing like pictures showed. I guess angles are everything. I could go on. The view of the river and gorge was amazing. Truly spectacular, but the room and hotel experience ruined this and stay was beyond disappointment. I advised concierge upon leaving if our experience and they offered no apology or compensation at all. I was told the feedback would be passed on. We heard nothing afterwards.

The hotel lobby and room was lovely.As bar and restaurant was closed, we couldn't see those areas.The view was amazing from our balcony.Jo at reception was exceptional and a great asset to the hotel.

We booked for the view and the jacuzzi on the balcony. Both were even better than our high expectations. The kitchen in the room meant we could get ingredients from the excellent supermarket down the road and enjoy dinner on the balcony looking at the truly spectacular view. Heaven.
