“Beautiful nature getaway”

I stayed at Greatest Hostels Amazon for about a week and feel so grateful I found this little jungle gem. Javier and Maria are some of the kindest, most welcoming hosts — incredibly helpful, warm and just genuinely good humans. They made me feel at home from the first moment. The location is perfect: surrounded by lush nature and total calm, yet only about 30 minutes from Puyo by bus or taxi. Falling asleep to jungle sounds and waking up to birds, butterflies and sunlight through the trees was pure magic. The property has beautiful walking paths, flowers everywhere and so many peaceful spots to sit and just be. The dorm is light, spacious and very clean, with lovely art and cozy areas to relax or socialise if you feel like it. Hot showers, great WiFi, and a delicious breakfast with homemade bread every morning. I could also use the kitchen and ended up sharing meals and laughs with new friends — it really felt like a little community. You can easily walk to nearby indigenous communities, waterfalls, a cacao farm and a mirador, or rent bikes to explore more. They also offer guided tours — ask for Maria, her knowledge about nature and plant medicine is incredbile and so inspiring. Also completely fell in love with their sweet dog and kitty. It’s the perfect place to disconnect and recharge while still being close enough to the action. Honestly didn’t want to leave and would come back any time. Such a special place.

peaceful, great hosts, very very kind! and the value for money is 10/10, you have a good breakfast. you have shops to buy sth to cook in the kitchen or you may buy some pasta or pizza inside the hostel. you also have 6hs tour with a great guide to the jungle

“Great location”

If you want a place in the jungle then this place has a great location. If you want the benefits of being in the town it will score low in terms of location. Staff are great, good food available, beers too. The dorm is the biggest I have been in on this trip, loads of space to spread your stuff out. Beds good too.

i had a very good time there. the beds were very comfortable and the area is perfect to calm down and enjoy the nature. also mario one of the staff members is a very nice person :)

“Could be the perfect place”

The hostel is in really beautiful place on the "last road" before the forest. The dormitorio is really nice and all the structure give you really a fantastic peaceful mood. The two host was ok, they give you suggestions, but It seems like things aren't being handled, things happen but aren't part of an organized management.

“The Highlight of My Amazonas Adventure”

My stay at Guest House Great Hostels Amazon was, without a doubt, the absolute highlight of my entire Amazonas trip in Ecuador. To begin with, getting there might require a bit of effort, but it's entirely worth it. You can catch the Centinela bus from the Mariscal market (just search "Cooperativa de Transportes Centinela del Oriente") which runs three times a day to Parroquia Tarqui (at 6 am, 12 pm, and 4 pm). Once you arrive, you'll be immersed in a genuine local Amazonian experience. The hostel is truly a hidden gem. They not only provide valuable guidance on visiting local communities, viewpoints, and waterfalls but also offer an authentic taste of Amazonian life. The surrounding area boasts a few local restaurants, and the hostel itself serves a complimentary breakfast and has its own restaurant. Additionally, there's a small kitchen available for guests. However, the absolute highlight of my stay was the tour with Enri. It was a genuine local experience and a steal at just $25 for the entire day. This price is significantly lower than what you'd pay for the more touristy tours offered in town or in Tena and Baños.

“Good option to explore the Amazon on a budget.”

Amazing place very close to the waterfall. You feel kind of in the jungle. There are some things around to do like the cocoa farm, waterfall and viewpoint (3km walk or bike). Some restaurants nearby as well.

I love this place! The nicest staff ever! Also the german volunteer was so friendly and helped us with everything. Everything super clean, great location, great food. I loved the fact that bike rental is possible, would highly recommend this wounderful place to everyone

Perfect location, two kitchens, cozy rooms, nice staff, very good prices, fast Wifi. This hostel has everything you need in Baños. I totally recommend.

Nice propperty , Daniela who work there was verry kind ( and busy) . She made for us delicious pizza. Bathing in Hola Vida was super nice. Next door cacao farm was also nice expirience.
