Everything. The host was incredibly friendly and helpful. The place is paradise

Nicanor could not have been more helpful, he met us in his boat on the mainland to bring us to the island, keeping in contact with us as our bus was late. The island was simple as expected but well kept and well maintained. The dining room offered a choice of chicken/trout with rice and chips for supper, both were delicious. Hot water and tea/coffee are freely available. Breakfast was egg bread rolls and delicious fruit. There is a small shop where you can buy sodas or beers. There is also a small craft shop that we supported. The family were very welcoming. The bedroom was clean and the bathroom had a proper toilet and sink. The beds had lots of blankets to keep warm at night. There is a solar powered shower. We had hot water each evening. Arranged for us to have a lake tour and kindly took us to/from the start/ end islands. Even though we had an early bus out from Puno he kindly took us back across to the mainland at 5.30am and even provided warm blankets for the trip.

Host is very nice and a extraordinary chef. He picked us up from the Port for free. Hot Shower is available and Lots of Blankets including a gas Heater.

Such a special experience to stay with Nicanor and the family. We were lucky enough to go on a private tour, learn the history of the island and how they are constructed. We had a very comfortable sleep with lots of blankets. The bathroom was basic with no shower but perfect for one night. The included breakfast was delicious as was the trout we had for dinner. The location and experience are one of a kind.

“Find another floating island stay”

The location was all they had. The owner definitely overcharged for everything. Adding little bits here and there without advertising or letting us know about it before which we couldn't refute. The room door was broken and wouldn't close. The electricity didn't work then he fixed it the first time, then the lights were flickering so he fixed that the second time but they started flickering again in the middle of the night when needed for anything. Also the steps leading to the room were awful, especially for my 70 odd year old parents, the first step was an off balance tree stump. In the dead of the night to use the shared toilets one would need to go up and down these "steps". So turn on the faulty flickering lights, try to open the broken door that had to be tied shut with a string, then leave the door open (because there is no other way to close it so best wait for the person to come back) making the room and everyone else in it cold, then go down the broken stairs and a tree stump to then go find the toilet and the same again in reverse to come back. What should've been a fun experience was an expensively mediocre one. I would definitely choose one of the other floating island stays instead. The rest of the family there was lovely! Just not the man trying to run it.

“Relaxing place to stay”

Very affordable at the price we booked at, would have been less happy if we had paid more (and not all rooms are equal so be careful which one you book). Well located on the islands and we liked the view from our terrace, peaceful place to spend a couple of days. Dinner was nice and filling. Flexibility of checking in and checking out times. Bathroom was clean and hot water.

It was an authentic experience of local life on the Uros floating island. Owner was very helpful and i used his kayak for 2 hours and paddled around the area. Breakfast was fine and served by the daughter- a real family affair

We had a really great experience staying with Nicanor and his family. Nicanor is really punctual and ensured everything ran like clockwork from picking us up at Kalaparja port (20 soles each way), taking us on a tour of Uros islands (65 soles for two people from memory I believe) and cooking us dinner (25 soles each). The room was really comfortable with plenty of warm blankets and a heater. The shower was also nice and hot. They sell beer, wine water etc for reasonable prices (15 soles for a big beer). The family was lovely. Breakfast was really tasty too. We didn't find it as cold as everyone else is complaining about. We were nice and toasty in bed. As if that's something that the host can control anyway. Do your research and bring appropriate clothing! Thank you for having us! :)

Very special experience, off grid accommodation at a floating island. Nicanor was nice and welcoming, our and his kids played together, we could use the kitchen (we expected a barbecue that was advertised and actually wasn't there). The breakfast was rich and very tasty. The room was nice and comfortable. We also forgot a cap and Nicanor took it to the port the other day, thank you!
