Overview
Located in the foothills of the Pyrénées, Au Petit Verger is a traditional stone house set in an orchard with a garden. It features a lounge and sun terrace. Hiking and cycling are available steps away. Rooms at Au Petit Verger are individually decorated and have polished wood or tiled floors. Some rooms have a fireplace. Each room has an en suite bathroom and some have cable TVs. Free Wi-Fi access is provided and guests have access to the communal lounge, which features a TV. Buffet breakfast is served daily in the large breakfast room and a fixed-menu dinner can be provided on request. After breakfast, guests can visit the nearby natural swimming lake with sandy beach a 3-minute walk away. Quercob Museum with its exhibits of life from medieval times to modern day is a 1-minute walk away and guests can visit the chateau, 700 metres away. The village of Limoux is 29 km away. Perpignan Airport is 85 km away.

“A lovely chambre d'hote with a very welcoming host.”
We were given a very friendly and warm welcome by Paula who made us feel very at home and comfortable. As we were the only guests we were allowed to choose our own room. We opted for the en suite choice as the others had a shared toilet and slightly odd shower units in the bedroom.?! The house is tastefully decorated and well cared for. Overall we were very happy with everything and were especially pleased to be allowed to use the kitchen to make coffee etc. Again I think this was due to the fact there was only us staying and was an added privilege.

“Brilliant place to stay while you explore a beautiful area.”
The location in the village of Montsegur is a fantastic place to explore the famous Cathar country. The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. The evening meal was delicious home cooked French country fare.

“Restful, charming place in beautiful countryside”
A lovely place to stay, a warm welcome. I totally recommend eating here, for two nights we had a lovely three course meals with wine and the company of walkers on the Cather Trail with whom it was interesting to share stories. We were advised on a superb walk, which will be a day we remember for a long time. Beautiful surroundings. A simple humble. Chambre d’hote, with everything you needed for a restful place to stay. The walk from Puivert along the ridge to the labyrinth was stunning.

The owner was very flexible and accommodating of « special needs ». There was nothing to not like. A kettle in the room would have been nice but there was a kitchen downstairs where one could get hot water and a mug.

We enjoyed our stay at the beautiful and comfortable Au Petit Verger. Martyn went out of his way to accommodate the dietary requirements we sprang on him, shared useful local knowledge and even sawed off the end of one of our walking sticks for us. We can recommend dining there: Paula is an excellent, versatile and inventive chef.

“Good place to stay”
There is a very nice patio area where we had dinner. Dinner and breakfast was good and we could make a sandwich for lunch. My room was at the back of the house and contained a shower and sink. The host was accommodating.

Breakfast was best we've had during our stay in B&B's in France. Martyn is a great host and a keen cyclist, will help with routes and has secure bike storage. We'll visit again...
