“Beautiful scenery at good location”
The whole hotel is beautiful and nicely maintained. So much plants and wildlife, absolutely georgeous. The A/C was good (and necessary). The beds are comfortable and the location is great with some very good restaurants nearby and an access to the beach right across the street. Breakfast is also good. The 70meter high tree is very impressing!

“Time stopped there, overpriced but comfortable cabins.”
The cabin is big, clean and nice. The bathroom is partly outside, it's a plus. The bed was really comfortable and we had a nice stay.

“Little peach of heaven in Costa Rica‘s Caribbean side”
Everything! The location is amazing, you’ll be in a very magical hotel inside the jungle. There is a 3 toe friendly sloth on the property and plenty more animals! The staff is so very friendly and helpful, make you feel so welcomed and at home. The rooms are a dream!!!!!!! I could have no asked for anything more! I wish I would have booked it for longer ! 100% coming back

“Wonderful experience staying at Shawandha Lodge”
We stayed in one of the double villas with access to the private pool. It is really special, and you’ll feel like you’re in your own part of the jungle. The room is well equipped and having a coffee in the morning listening to the sounds of the jungle is an amazing way to start the day. The main pool is also lovely and there’s a private walk down to the beach across the road which was perfect for us.

We spent our final days in Costa Rica at Shawandha and couldn’t have chosen a better place to end our trip. From the warm welcome by Deyfer to Victoria’s thoughtful follow-up throughout our stay, we felt well cared for. The staff were always friendly, helpful, and smiling, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. Our cabin was comfortable, and when we noticed the mosquito net was missing, it was quickly taken care of. Breakfasts were excellent, and we loved winding down in the evenings with great drinks. The location is perfect—within walking distance to the beach, right next door to one of the best pizzerias we’ve ever tried, and close to a truly authentic Caribbean restaurant. The hotel itself, along with the pool area, was simply amazing. We would gladly return without hesitation.

“10/10 beauty but 4/10 functionality. Not worth it at this price tag.”
- visuals 10/10 (you get a hut in the jungle...it's literal paradise!) - staff 9/10 (-1 point because language barrier... a lot of the times i had to use translator app) - atmosphere 10/10 (with the exception of the GROSS SEWER SMELL which i had to go through DAILY - check the dislike section) - audio 9/10 (place is far enough from the street so you never hear traffic + you always have nature singing to you...BUT...the leafblower though...)

Beautiful jungle setting right across the street from the beach. We saw lots of Howler monkeys , they had a great breakfast, the beds were very comfortable, the staff was amazing, and my son loved the pool. Great hotel!

“Amazing Location, but would expect a little better customer service for the money spent”
Amazing location just across the road from Playa Chiquita and with a fantastic jungle setting. Great pool to cool off after the day on beach. Great wildlife spotting opportunities - we were lucky enough to see a sloth come down a tree near the restaurant.

“Wonderful, ultimate getaway!”
Everything! This place is amazing! Insanely beautiful garden with wonderful rooms and spacious bathrooms. The ultimate getaway. Enjoy the pool or just relax in your hammock. Amazing place to just listen to the sounds of wildlife!
