Staff was helpful and kind, swimming pool and restaurant were amazing and my free included breakfast was good,, and waking up to sit on the beach and watch the waves everyday was lovely.

Excellent location and great experience. The water taxis can take you to great beaches and parties. The bar and restaurant are great. The co-working space is perfect for people that need to work.

Lots of people and good facilities

The accommodation is located in a beautiful place, much nicer than downtown Puerto Viejo.

Amazing room with balcony, the staff were extremely helpful especially Mary at reception. We had a private room that was presented extremely well with a TV, coffee machine and fridge. Would 100% stay here again when in Puerto Viejo

The hotel is not too far from town (10min walk) and you have a reception that’s open until late. It’s easy for late night check ins.

This was our second and last Selina-stay during our vacation in Costa Rica. The location was really good: close by the center of Puerto Viejo, the sea and the beach was literally in the backyard of the hostel so you could walk to it in no time. They’ve created a cosy vibe and they did their best to create an atmosphere where you can connect with other travelers. The staff arrange activities and entertainment-evenings so there is a lot to do in the Selina if you want. The main area was good too! The pool was in the center and was surrounded with the bar, comfy chairs and hammocks. There was a lot of space to hang out and chill. The restaurant had a very varied menu (typical Costa Rican food but also the typical Western food) and what we ate was tasteful (not included in the prices of your stay!). Also, there is a common kitchen where you can choose to cook for yourself. At the time we were there, the kitchen was a bit nasty and some equipment wasn’t there. It depends on the cleanness of the other travelers who uses the kitchen but maybe the staff could make an effort to keep the kitchen clean too. Little side note: we loved to see the staff doing their best to create some fun and entertaining evenings but our room was in the main-building next to the common area so we heard every little noise. The music and the sounds of other travelers during the late evenings (and sometimes the nights too) gave us not that much sleep. Overall a good place to stay but I think, now we can compare with our other accommodations, we aren’t that much “blown away” with the whole “Selina-hostel-vibes”.

“A very nice stay on a lovely beach destination!”

The premises are super nicely located. It’s right next to the beach (and even though you may not swim right there) with a nice walk you’re at Cocles Beach. Similarly, you can reach the centre of Puerto Viejo. The staff is welcoming and available most of the day. Highly recommended to rent a bike and go around, 10$ for about 24 hours! The shared bathroom facilities are cleaned and equipped with body shower, shampoo and conditioner. There is also a nice bar and ample room for parking cars.
