Overview
Hostel Playa 506 Beachfront Hostel, located in Playa Cocles, 1.5 km from the center of Puerto Viejo, has its facilities right in front of the sea. With a restaurant / bar where you will find hammocks and chairs right on the shore of the beach. The facilities have shared dorms, private rooms and free WiFi in all areas of the hostel. There is a shared kitchen on the property. The hostel provides bicycle rental service, surf boards and the area is ideal for snorkeling and fishing.

Great kitchen facilities, cold/hot filtered water available which was so appreciated! Aircon, hot showers. Awesome walk from here through to town. Big lockers for bag storage.

Front reception staff friendly, especially Alexandra! Helped book a fantastic Cacao tour for me, and was available by whatsapp when I needed. Stayed in the female AC dorm which was super comfortable, and private with the curtains. Plenty of locker space to put all my things.

Very nice Hostel directly at the beach Cocles. The vibe is amazing, people very nice. There is free water available (hot and cold). We were in a private room, is quite small but definitely enough. We would come again.

“Friendly, welcoming beachfront stay”
The location was great, just a little way to the main town. Walkable but better to rent a bike and ride into town. Kabuki cab was a couple dollars and a great option when the weather isn't great. The beach was excellent and nice to have the little cabanas to get out of the sun/rain. The weather wasn't great when we were there so no swimming or beach lounging for us. The restaurant was pretty good. Nice breakfast. The shower was good and nice and clean. The shared kitchen was nice and had plenty of supplies and the staff were super friendly and welcoming.

“Amazing location”
Location was amazing, right on the beach and Playa Cocles is a great area near Puerto Viejo to stay in. Lots of spaces to hang out, good food in the restaurant and shared bathrooms were cleaned regularly with lots of different ones to us. A very relaxed atmosphere!

“I had an amazing experience here”
It was right on the beach with an outdoorgym just a few minute walk grom there. Volleyball courts and surf. Restaurants and all you need. The beach was wide and beautiful. The staff was nice and helpful. You could also rent bikes

“Overall it was average, I would recommend to try and and find somewhere else due to the smell/dampness”
We had a private double room. The kitchen facilities were great, the location was excellent , great to have hot water, dark rooms to sleep. Overall I think it would be better to stay elsewhere.

“A nice budget place to stay and enjoy the beach.”
We liked that the property is right in front of the beach. There was a live event the night that we arrived and we enjoyed it for free since we were already staying there. The room is small, it has a bed and a section for your belongings. We though it was enough space for the 2 of us since we were only staying 3 days. The bathroom is very nice, we liked its design. The room has no windows looking out, so it took me a bit to adjust, but not a big deal really.

“Great place”
First time we stayed in a hostel. But it was really amazing. Great people and vibes. It was clean and comfortabel. Food is good and they help you with everything.
