An entire bungalow for ourselves, with our own fridge and kitchen inside for a very reasonable price. With a lovely outside seating area with hammocks and sofas.The owners were amazing and helpful.

“Best place is Puerto Viejo”

The host and his family are amazing, we booked one week but ended up spending three. The location is amazing for playa negra and town, cocles beach is only a 10 minute cycle. The hosts were amazing and attentive to our needs, you have your own kitchen facilities and access to shared kitchen facilities. It truly is a home away from home! They also have a cute cat! You can often spot agouti’s walking by and the whole of one love is gated and so feels very safe! Plenty of fans to keep you cool and a warm shower!

It’s a nice bungalow with plenty of space and the hosts are super friendly people. They take a lot of time to explain about the area and what to visit there. The common chill out area with hammocks is really comfy and it was nice to cook in the outdoor kitchen.

Our room was big enough for 5 and the outside communal area was great. Carlos was very friendly and the dog too.

“Great quiet, and convenient base in Puerto Viejo”

Carlos is a great host. He has plenty of tips about the area, is always available, and is always trying to solve any potential issue or query. They also have the contact number of taxi drivers and the price range for some of the most common rides. In terms of the units, they are definitely suitable for large groups or families, with two floors, a double bed, and bunk beds on the upper floor. They also have a kitchen and utensils inside the unit as well as one in the common area. The shower and toilet were clean, and they clean up the unit as many times as you request it during your stay. As additional services, they provide laundry and bike rentals. During our stay there was a water shortage, but Carlos immediately opened the emergency water tanks, and we were able to have a shower as normal. The area is very quiet at night, but still easy enough to go walking, cycling or taxi to town centre (party town) or the beaches. There are few grocery shops in the neighbourhood and a big supermarket at 5-10 min walk

“Great! When I get back from Panama I will stay here another month or so.”

The place is just right for me. I like to be able to cook. It is a reasonable walk to town or can get a taxi for about 3.50 if need be. Eating out in Costa Rica is not particularly cheap so the private kitchen helps cut costs. I am also concerned about the food having a lot of sodium and MSG. The family hosts are great and very helpful. Carlos recommended going to Bocas del Toro in Panama. Well here I am. I walk in the hotel room and there is a baby grand piano in my living room. That's a new one!

“Friendly budget option”

The owner was exceptionally friendly and helpful and went out of his way to help us. He even ordered in pizza when restaurants were closed and offered to go to the supermarket for us.

Very nice host, always shared tips and spots worth visiting. Room also had multiple fans to keep on at night.

Really friendly and helpful host and family. Located well, a bit outside so it was quiet from this side. Good equiped commun and private kitchen. A lot of space in the room.

One of the greatest features this hotel offers is the owner: Carlos. He is very friendly and accommodating and will help you with anything you might need. The hotel itself is really well equipped. Not only does it have a communal kitchen, bit each room has their own kitchen, fridge and equipment as well. There is a hot shower and a water reserve for when there is a shortage. We really, really recommend staying here!

“Loved it”

Lovely place! Carlos and his wife were really nice and made me feel like home. Nice and cosy common area in garden, and fully equipped kitchen. Will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Nice apartment with everything you need. It's good and not expensive place to stay in Puerto Viejo. 10 minutes walk to the centre but very enjoyable as you can walk along the beach. Small kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals.

The owners were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is little bit out of the center but itwas not a problem to walk there and there is Tuktuk as well for 3000 colones. Seems like an area where local people live so it was very calm. The common area is very big and comfy, rooms are correct and there is warm water as well which is not so common in CR.
