The host and his family were very kind genuine people. We were early checking in and they were kind enough to keep our suitcases for us! The hotel was situated on the main street of Puerto Viejo easy to get around and close to everything. The room was clean the beds were comfy! We felt safe there as the host and his family were very attentive . There is an excellent bakery called : De Gustibus (note they are closed on wednesdays) right across from them for fresh pastries and coffee in the morning ! Would recommend for short stays !

Very basic accommodation in central Puerto Viejo. Nice hosts. The water they provided was very helpful to have.

Puerto Viejo, what a special place on earth! Myself and my friend loved staying at Hotel Exotic Lodge. Great location and access to the beach trails which is literally accross the road. There’s a special hairy resident in the garden tree’s, if you are lucky, you can spot him hanging around. It was the closest we got to a sloth. We also woke up one morning to howler monkeys, we couldn’t of asked for a more immersive jungle experience, wow :) We ended up extending our stay, thats how much we loved it. Its simple and charming, hosted by a lovely family who recommended us some great places to visit that will forever hold a place in our hearts! Great welcome from Sebastian who took the time to tell us good tips about our stay in Puerto Viejo. Good location central to town but still quiet at night. Woke up to howler monkeys one morning which was great (and not too early) !

“Lovely comfortable stay :)”

It’s in a great location, has a locked entry gate for safety (even though I felt safe in the area anyway) and is spacious and clean. Everyone who works there is really friendly, they aren’t around constantly - but they’re always available if you need them to be, which made it feel more private too. It’s across the road from the beach, and has a little patio where you can have a coffee or breakfast. Value for money is great.

Very good location: a few minutes walk from the beach, shops and restaurants. Spacious room and bathroom. Overall the place felt safe.

Really enjoyed my stay here! Staff is super friendly and rooms are clean and comfortable, location is a 10 min walk from town but close to quieter part of the beach!

“No Reception”

The location is great, set in a quiet courtyard just off the main street. There is a café and a bakery 2 seconds away, and it is just a short walk to downtown or to playa cocles. The room and bathroom was clean and spacious, and the staff were nice when they were available.

The hotel is in a perfect location in Puerto viejo, in the center and close to the best beaches but still quiet during the night. The rooms were very clean and tidy, equipped with everything you need. The owners are very friendly and kind they gave us very nice advices. Highly recommended!

Location is good. Close to center and restaurants. Excellent bakery with all kind of delicious breakfast options across the street. Many nice beaches on walking distance. Owner is great and helpful guy.
