“Great vibe - easy to meet people - tough to cook”

The vibe is great here - kitchen with large eating area, large amazing pool with a bar and music, late night activities at the hostel next door so you can get sleep if you want to. The rooms are tight with a private washroom for 6 beds. Overall great area in the main town but you will need to rent bicycles (i recommend renting else where for better quality). Def go to karaoke night on Wednesday and get the free wristband to dance afterwards!

Right in the centre of town with the Green Jaguar pub attached. It was pretty quiet.

People are very friendly especially the guy from New York and the Girl at the Pool Bar. Happy Hour is great at the Pool

Our room (3-bed) was very dirty, the shower(head) was digusting and we had a smoked joint and some other dirt on one of the beds. Also the room is very close to the walk way which made it so you couldn’t open the blinds really.

The pool was amazing and everything was so clean!! AC in the bedroom so the night was comfortable as well. I wish I could have stayed here longer!!

Clean, nice staff

The best thing about this place is the pool area. The swimming pool is large and clean and the surrounding vegetation is beautiful. If you’re lucky you’ll spot an iguana too. There’s also an adjacent pub which is convenient if you don’t feel like going out.

Good location near centre of town, lovely pool area, well equipped kitchen with free drinking water, helpful staff and good bar attached which served good well-priced food. 6-bed dorm was large and pretty clean.

The room was clean and the pool and hostel facilities were great.

I’ve travelled many countries over the years, and this was a standout hostel. Admittedly we were in a private room and it was off-season but the vibe was great, nice pool, they clearly put on events for solo travellers to get involved in, and it’s really close to the beach and where the action happens in puerto viejo. Had a great stay here - the bed was nice, the shower was good and overall had no complaints

The room was very spacious and nice, the property itself is beautiful and very green, there is a security guard at night. The swimming pool was fun as well!

The Clan Hotel was just lovely. The room was clean and spacious. The common areas (kitchen, swiming pool) was great maintained and the garden in the property so beautiful.

AC is only turned on in the evenings

Nice clean place and big garden with a pool There a plenty of things organised, like karaoke night if you like that. But it is also relaxed and a great pool in the big garden
