“Unique House, Nice Owner, 1/1 Experience”

“Quiet Jungle house with a beautiful on site beach.”

The art inspired inside out houses are in the Jungle with monkeys, sloths, butterflies, birds, fireflies and little deer things (Agouti perhaps). Mostly sat in rocking chairs and watched the wildlife, like glamping in a wildlife park (monkey picture below was taken from the house). Picture perfect (and quiet) Caribbean beach is a one end of the site, good for a swim, little board / body surf and watching pelicans fish. Walking up the beach to Punta Uva (3km) for lunch, wildlife spotting and an optional snorkel on the reef was a daily activity. Moca Beach restaurant, nearby up the beach, is very good in the evening (bring a torch - iPhone torch works). Uber is in the area, they prefer cash. Support from staff (Masai) was great, especially when the rental car went kaput. Lots of info given on where to shop, visit, trips and wildlife. Congo Bongo was by far the best accommodation / location / experience during our trip in Costa Rica.

We loved the location, the way to the beach through the jungle, and how intimate we felt in our Dream House. For dinner, you can actually walk on the beach to Manzanillo.

Wonderful, exceptional accommodation in the middle of the jungle. Very lovingly designed and well-equipped houses with an open kitchen. Experiencing the jungle up close was a unique experience. The owners are very nice and helpful and can always be reached via Whatsapp if you have any questions or need help. The whole complex is very well maintained and the beach was a 10 minute walk from our house along a woodland path lined with artwork. We loved it there.

“In the midst of wilderness with modern comforts”

The most special stay on our entire Costa Rica trip. The houses are built inside the stretch of a beautiful selva, with direct access to the pristine, unspoiled beach. We were surrounded by sounds and sightings of wildlife on our walks to and from the beach, and when enjoying our time at the house. The love, attention and effort that goes into the maintenance of this amazing place is truly incredible. Everything works perfectly, from showers to kitchen utilities and all other comforts. Marisol took great care of us and helped us to spot sloths, toucans and howler monkeys. One of our closest wildlife encounters on the trip also took place at Congo Bongo. Following Marisol’s recommendation, we had two dinners at the local restaurant Mista Cook, it was delicious. Muchas gracias, we will be back!

“Great stay, very well-equipped jungle/beach lodge”

Exceptional location and very well equipped house (full kitchen, purified water, mosquito nets, hammocks, swining chairs,,...). Owners and staff are very polite and helpful, especially the laundry service was fantastic. We really enjoyed the daily routine of the animals around us as well as plenty of interesting and relaxing activities to do nearby.

Everything! It was like we were in the jungle on our own, the houses are very well set out so you really feel like no one else is around. Walking through the jungle to the beach was also a great experience and our house seemed to come with a dog that showed us the way to the beach and then to the little town area which was so cute... of a night the howler monkeys were so noisy but what an experience!

“A very special stay in a beautiful jungle house”

The whole village is beautifully designed with a clever inside/outside design to make you really aware you are staying in the heart of the jungle, side by side with nature. It’s fabulous and wildlife is everywhere! Lots of lovely artistic touches around the house make it feel very special and the house has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Masai was on hand at all times to help with any requests we had and the fact that laundry was thrown in free was a massive bonus. All in all we had a really special time at Congo Bongo which we will remember forever.

The property is absolutely stunning. The beach is 5-10 minutes away through the jungle. The long house we stayed is was very unique and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

A beautiful resort for those who seek a break from civilization but still don't want to miss out on anything. You sleep in the middle of a small jungle and still have a beautiful beach nearby that you almost have to yourself. You wake up to the sounds of howler monkeys and see plenty of wildlife. A perfect place to unwind and relax, with a wonderful host.

This property is lovely. It is a destination in itself. The cabins/ houses were delightful. The owners of the property were very helpful. The beach near the property was beautiful.

We loved the location and the beach. The wildlife around the house is amazing but you need to like all the insects that will also find a way into the house. If you don't mind that it is a dream house.

If you love nature and want to feel next to it then this is your place. It’s beautiful. Owners are lovely and helpful and leave you to get on with your stay or are there if you need them.
