“A tropical paradise in Puerto Viejo”

The biggest draw of this place is its beautiful, well-maintained surroundings—a true tropical garden. We were able to admire Costa Rica’s flora and fauna, including numerous animals (monkeys, agoutis, raccoons) and birds. The scenery is unforgettable. The beach is best suited for experienced swimmers (at least in February when we were there). The property is located some distance from town, so if you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for you.

It’s a little botanical paradise just steps away from the sea and close to several stunning beaches. Set in a gorgeous garden, the lodge was well equipped and very comfortable. Great wi-fi too. Carlos and his team could not have been more helpful or kind. They arranged some great trips for us too.If you want a space (self-catering although loads of restaurants and cafes around too) to fully relax around beautiful tropical plants, birds, sloths, and monkeys - with plenty to do around every corner of this special part of the Costa Rican Caribbean cost - go! Thanks to everyone on the team who make it such a special place.

“Amazing place, great beach spot, highly recommended”

Everything was absolutely fantastic: The house surrounded by beautiful gardens, the closeness to the beach, the comfort of the beds. We loved everything about Casa Viva. Carlos was also super friendly, attentive and helpful.

This place was an absolute highlight of our stay in Costa Rica. The cabins are located in a beautiful garden right on the beach. The surroundings are full of life with birds, sloths and monkeys in the trees all around.

The tropical forest garden is beautiful some details are impressive but too much went wrong and it was all too stressful to enjoy it really... No holiday feeling at all.

We arrived before check-in, and Francisco and Nicole were very helpful in getting us settled. It was my husband's birthday that day, and they were kind enough to make thorough recommendations of the area for the family to enjoy. We saw a sloth, monkey, three green macaws, and various exotic birds right on the almond tree. It was truly astonishing to see.

“Special joungle meets ocean experience”

A very special place! Great location on the beach, beutifull property, very peacefull yet wild. Nature meets ocean in a perfect balance. The houses are private and well aquipped, simple but not basic. Great atmosphere and design. Friendly and attentive staff. A truely uniqe experience. There are not a lot of places like this place out there (:

“Heaven”

This place is like the garden of Eden. It is stunningly beautiful and the wildlife on the property is amazing. Nicole went above and beyond to help us. One of the best places we have ever stayed in Costa Rica.

“Relaxing Casa With Jungle Feeling”

These Casas are just amazing, a two minute walk to the beach. Waves can be heard at an ear shot and gives a calming effect. The shower is great and the beds are very confortable aswell. Easy access to the National Parks. To top it all off, "Nicole" the Casa Viva manager was adorable, she is helpful, has great ideas of where to go and what to do and she is just a call away. I would definitely stay at the Casa Viva again. Thank you Nicole (…give Gloriana my best, she was a terrific Bri Bri Reservation Tour Guide). Sonya & Stefan

This is in the most stunning location and all the lodges are surrounded by beautiful trees and plants. The path entering onto the beach is magical. We came by bus and enjoyed using the bikes to explore the area. (Bring your own bike lights!) We had the suite and loved the cosy kitchen as a place to be in the evening. Kitchen was very well equipped, it even had a teapot which we really appreciated! For the carless - local restaurant 'Selvin' is a few minutes walk away and is really good, but it is only open Thursday-Sunday. Other places you need to walk at least 1/2 hour or bike or TukTuk. Very lovely and helpful Nicole, the onsite manager, as well as the smiling gardener who brought us coconut water, grapefruits and bananas. Will carry on dreaming about this place and hope to return!

It was our first time on the Carribean coast of CR. In my opinion this is the best place you can find in CR generally. Nicest wooden house in just 50 meters from such a beach. Impeccable place multiplied by a super service and attention we were paid by the staff and personally by a co-owner Luis! We would certainly like to return to this place!

“Amazing place”

A lovely place! Rooms was big enough and comfortable. The surroundings are just amazing, you’re in the middle of rainforest. You’ll see and hear wild monkeys, birds, sloths and other animals. There’s a beach access just few steps away. There are bikes and kayaks for rental. Owner and staff are super helpful. Big recommendation!

EVERYTHING!!!! From the moment we drove through the gates we were in a jungle paradise. The staff was always there to help and the beach was only a short 3-minute walk from our cabin. We saw so many creatures and the food in the area was unbelievable. Can't wait to come back and would recommend it to everyone. Thank you to Nicole and the Staff for making our stay so amazing.
