Staying at the Banana Lodge was fantastic on all fronts! The lodge, nicely located next to a river, is beautiful with spacious, clean rooms and plenty of places to also sit outside. The hosts are super friendly and helpful, and very good in bilingual communicating before and during the stay. Breakfast is great, as is having a swimming pool. Internet is stable and fast. The center of Misahualli is at easy walking distance and has plenty of restaurants (and a square with monkeys …). The town feels very safe (as did all the places in Ecuador we visited - Quito-Cotopaxi-Misahualli) and offers good opportunities for trips into the Amazon or easy tours to nearby lagunas (monkeys, birds, fish, etc.). We picked Misahualli because it offers a very affordable Amazon experience and is easily reachable from Quito. The lodge and the town exceeded even our high expectations. All in all, great for a relaxed Amazon experience, and very good value for money – strongly recommended!

The best choice in the area. Clean accommodation with excellent breakfast. New swimming pool. The owner provided us with a local guide on the Napo River, Carlo. And thanks to him we had a wonderful day in Smazonia.

“Fabulous three days at Banana Lodge”

We had a fabulous three nights at Banana Lodge. Great location next to the river and only a few minutes walk from town, there was also a lovely brand new swimming pool and we found the room very clean and comfortable. Facilities were good: parking, wifi, shared kitchen, and lockers. Anna was also able to organise a day tour along the river with Carlos at Runawa Tours which was a real highlight.

A beautiful place right in front of the river in the Amazon rainforest, just a 10-minute walk from the town center. Everything was thoughtfully designed and well taken care of. The host was incredibly helpful and arranged a wonderful tour for us the next day.

The property feels like a home. The owner is very friendly and hospitable. The facilities are very clean, have hot water and kitchen with cooking amenities. You can walk to the city Misahualli in 5-7 minutes. Also the owner organized the daily jungle tour for us with a great tour guide. It was an interesting experience

Charming lodging in a beautiful and peaceful setting. Rooms were quiet and comfortable for us. Linens and facilities were clean. My husband appreciated the AC and fans. Teen children were happy to have internet in our downtime and I was enamored with the plants and the wood paned windows. Hosts were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was healthy and delicious. Lodge is far enough away from town to feel private and still, yet close enough to go eat and get supplies as needed. Would certainly come back.

The setting on the banks of the river is so peaceful and relaxing as well as beautiful. The staff and Anna went above and beyond to accomodate us. The grounds are beautifully landscaped.

The property was in good location and has nice garden and surroundings. But if you can do not book to avoid any disappointment with your room as you might get something totally different than you have booked.

Nice lodge about ten minutes stroll down a well lit road from the town square. Off street parking and much needed air con was appreciated. The property is on a river, and has a terrace where you can sit and enjoy the views. Our room was comfortable and spacious and fairly quiet - we were at the front of the building so inevitably there was some road noise, but nothing too bad. The rooms overlooking the river are away from the road. There is a communal kitchen if you want to cook (or make coffee). The owner organised a river trip for us with a very good guide, which was a big help.

Very good location, with the view of the river and Amazonia. Not far from the center, where you can eat and book some activities. The lady of the house is very helpfull with everything. Very clean accomodation. I can reccomend.

“Lindo lugar, cómodo y bien ubicado”

The location is very good, since the lodge is located next to the Misahualli River, with direct access from the property to the river. It is less than 1 km from the property to the center of Misahualli (you can leave the car park at the lodge and comfortably walk to the center) The attention is personalized and very good!. The cleanliness and space in the rooms are OK. There is also a cafeteria with a fridge, kitchen and everything you need. The gardens are very beautiful!

The location was beautiful. In the morning the air was filled with bird singing. Our first floor room was specious, clean and had aircon. The lodge's manager spoke very good English, which was a bonus, as none of us could speak Spanish. The Napo river boat trip arranged by the lodge's manager was amazing.

Extremely beautiful property and one of the nicest accomodations I've stayed in an Ecuador, let alone in the middle of the jungle. Spent most evenings jumping in the river and swimming just a minute walk down the stairs to the bank. Well located, very close to town, good WiFi, extremely clean, 5 star facilities

“Beautiful!”

The location is wonderful, outside the small the town of Misahualli. We had a car, but we still walked to town when we went because it was a nice and easy walk. We enjoyed watching the monkeys at the Playa de los Monos. Our daughters loved swimming in the river in the afternoons. The rooms were spacious with comfortable beds. The owners, Anna and her husband, were on top of everything and made sure everyone was comfortable! Very helpful for us was that there's a dedicated kitchen for guest use!
