The hostel itself is fine, clean and comfy beds, free breakfast is nice. I booked 2 tours from the tour desk in the hostel: 3d 2n tambopata macaw tour at collpas Inn. This type was fantastic, the lodge was amazing, clean comfortable, the food was great staff friendly and the guides (Alun and Jorge) were amazing very respectful of wildlife and informative. You go on boat tours, kayaking visit the macaw clay lick and do several walks.The tour was great value and I wish I had stayed longer here it was so beautiful. 2d 1n Sandoval lake tour. The lodge I stayed in for this tour ( maloka Sandoval) was nowhere near as nice as collpas inn. It was very basic the rooms were a bit gross, it wasn't as clean and comfortable. the food was okay but it didn't agree with my stomach. However the staff were nice and the guide Alberto was fantastic the lake is beautiful and you stay right by the lake so you get to go on boat tours at night and the following morning. There were lots of Cayman, snakes, monkeys. However I wouldn't have wanted to stay longer as the lodge wasn't as comfortable.

Great big hostel with nice open areas. Great pool, showers & beds. Rooms simple but comfy. Delicious breakfast with options to choose from. Outdoor chill area with hammocks & games.

The hostel is clean, comfortable and cheap, only a couple blocks away from plaza de armas. We booked a room with shared bathroom and the host gave us a one with private bathroom for the same price since there was availability. There's a nice terrace with hammoks, a large common area with a kitchen and the swimming pool. NB the address on booking is wrong, look it up on Google maps

“Lovely cheap stay”
Pool is great. Very sociable and the rooftop is great to watch the sunset from, very decent prices and the breakfast is great, all beds have mosquito nets

Super nice breakfast! The woman at the front was super nice, all the time. After checkout she offered us to stay in the common area (incl pool) to wait until our flight. Very lovely, if we’re in Puerto Maldonado again, we’ll definitely stay there again!

Pool for a quick dip (quite run down though, the whole place needs a lot of attention). Breakfast was okay. Staff are nice and helped with booking 3 day trips to their lodge. Trip was good with good activities, nice rooms and refreshing pool. Food was same every lunch (rice and veg) and dinner (spaghetti and veg).

Very bad service, or I should say almost no service at all. Not recommended. -The room was not cleaned daily. Dirty toilet and almost always no toilet paper. -Often nobody at the reception. One reception guy said a ridiculous price about the 3-day tour (50 dollars more than the price offered by the same agency at their office). -Disappointing breakfast -Price on booking is much higher than that at the reception. What is more ridiculous is that the female room is 1 dollar more than the mixed room on booking, whereas the price for both is actually the same if you pay at the reception. Also 5% of commission if you pay by card. -No free luggage storage service. Wanted to charge me 5 soles for storing my backpack before I took the bus. -No water on the last day. 24 hours without water. No notice the day before.

the hostel is very welcoming, even beyond the check-in and check-out hours. You can use the common area, hammocks terrace, storage and the bathrooms. the rooms are big and comfy, hosts are nice and helpful
