The owners are very nice. Interested botanist. Gave me a lift to the airport. A kitchen and pool that was nice. Area is a bit run down but so is most of Puerto Maldonado. A little away from the main centro. Cold showers but then again, I think that is the same everywhere in PM

“Cozy hostel in Puerto Maldonado- all you need”

Very friendly hosts, they were always there for us and helped us a lot. They know a lot about the area the rainforest and about medicinal plants. There is a small pool and a kitchen. We stayed a lot in the hostel because we liked it so much

“Had a great stay! Raul and his mother are adorable people”

Had a great time in this hostel! The room was clean and spacious, the garden had a pool and hammocks for relaxing. Raul and his mother were very friendly and helpful, Raul offered a cheap taxi service and a city tour on the first day. They also offered me homegrown fruit and explained a lot about the local fauna and flora. Would definitely recommend and will come back for sure!

“Amazing accommodation and host!”

Raul was amazing! He took me on a tour of the city, made me coffee every morning, had great knowledge of the Amazonian animals and plants, dropped me off at the airport and was a lovely man who made me feel very welcome! The accommodation is very homely and peaceful which is lovely to chill out at. Beautiful garden with shaded areas to relax. My room had a fan and AC machine, comfortable bed, towels, extra toilet roll and was a very clean and comfortable room. Had a great stay here, and ended up booking an extra 2 nights! Definitely recommend! Thank you ☺️

The room was wonderful, had everything I may need - comfortable bed, towels, blanket, table, chair, bathroom was right there as well and the kitchen is right outside. Raul, the host, was very sweet and helpful showing me where to get food, we talked a lot about the animals in the jungle that I saw on my tours, and he gave me a ride to the airport. I had a much needed good quality break after living in jungle cabins for a while.

Raul is great. So knowledgeable, he took me on a city tour and I learned a lot.

Raul the hostel host was very kind and friendly, making sure I reached the hostel safely. The air-conditioning fan in the room was a great bonus, as I adjusted to the heat of Puerto Maldonado. Raul also allowed me to check in early in the morning and rest in another room, while the guest checked out of the room I had booked. This was really great because I had just arrived on the overnight bus and was very tired. The shared kitchen is small but had everything I needed. Raul made himself available to take me into the centre of town, on his motorbike, to shop for groceries, for a very affordable fee. This was an extra service that I was very grateful for. He is very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna, and spent some time and care showing me around the town and port. I wish Raul well with his hostal business. And thanks for the extra care and attention.
