We liked absolutely everything! Elmer and his family were very welcoming and made us feel at home. His wife makes really great food, you should try it! She also washed our clothes for us, since we travelled from Cusco and had a lot of dirty laundry. Their dog Preto is very playful and likes to be around. We really enjoyed his company. 🐾 All the tours we did, we arranged on the spot, with Elmer. The location is perfect for watching wildlife - monkeys, birds, etc.. We were chilling by the pool and saw a lot of different animals. 10/10 - hope to be back one day 🥰 Chomi family - we wish you all the best!

“Fantastic”

Elmer was a fantastic host, he sorted everything we needed. He booked all the tours and picked us up and dropped us off to different places when needed. We had a few meals at the lodge too cooked by his wife and they were delicious. The lodge was rustic, fairly basic but comfortable. It was great being surrounded by nature.

Elmer and his family were absolutely lovely. Fabiana, his daughter, helped with English translations. The place is just amazing with all the confort you can imagine in the middle of the jungle. Elmer took us to a local restaurant where locals go and where we could feed Macaws. He made sure our stay was perfect and we couldn t ask for a better place to enjoy the Amazon. We could see lots of animals at night and enjoy Piranha fishing in the morning.

Elmer and his family were great hosts. The comfortable house is in a lovely garden with free roaming chickens. We enjoyed the pool for cooling off in the midday heat. The balcony was great for bird- and agouti spotting. Elmer organized some very nice tours and generally took care of everything

“Jungle Dream House”

The stay at Chomi House was a dream come true. Everything and I really mean everything was perfect. We were even picked up by our host from the airport and he took us back with all our luggage. Elmer and his family are very friendly, helpful and we felt a 100% safe and welcome all the time. The house is very clean, comfortable and we loved the hammocks and the pool. The best thing of all, what we discovered later on, are the tours he organises. Very IMPORTANT!!!!! Book the tours at his place since they are perfectly organised and better than similar once in get your guide. We did two tours and we got professional guides who really knew what they do!!!! We regret not having known that from the beginning. Communication was always very smooth and easy. We will definitely return!!

“Superb rainforest lodge in Peru with a warm and welcoming host.”

The 5 days we spent in Puerto Maldonado were our best experience in Peru so far. Chomi house is very well equipped, the unbelievable flora and fauna (birds, monkeys) of the garden and the surrounding forest make further jungle tours almost unnecessary. Of course, we also took part in the recommended tours: each time we had fantastic guides who knew everything there was to know about the environment. We went to Puerto Maldonado with two 7-year-old children – we can claim that it is an ideal family adventure as well. Elmer and his family are the nicest and most devoted people we've met: we simply couldn't come up with an idea that they wouldn't fulfill. They took us everywhere we asked, they kindly helped us in everything. The breakfast and dinner they prepared were amazing - they also prepared vegetarian meals upon our request. The neighborhood is also fantastic, we talked to natives, managers of wild animal shelters, women who run a great restaurant and rescue injured parrots. We recommend it to everyone who is curious about the world of the Peruvian jungle, its folkloric and contemporary culture, and would like to spend time with fantastic Peruvian people, with a very warm-hearted family, to whom we would like to return at any time.

Amazing place to stay, close to the wild nature but also not so far from the city. Lovely bungalow house with fridge, privat swimming pool and hammocks, surrounded by jungle forest (just like in the photos). The host really tried his best, even took us on a little trip around the area and beautiful privat beach. Tasty local breakfast (included in price) as well as lunch (which was offered to us) on site.

Such an amazing relaxed place, we have had a really good time here. Comfy beds, everything clean, and the pool was very nice to cool off. Drinking coffee watching the sun rise at the balcony in the morning also was a highlight. We loved the beautiful garden with his dog, the chickens and the neighbor cat. Elmer and his family are so friendly, and they are willing to help with anything. He even arranged and gave us a Lago Yacumama tour, and we had a campfire our last night. It is a small drive from the city (we had a car), but Tuktuks regularly pass by and there are taxi's. I hope I get the chance to come back in the future!

We loved our stay at Elmars home. It was very nice, we could even take Elmars motorbicycle to drive to the city, they prepared a nice breakfast and provides us with everything we needed. We loved the pool, the jungle and animals around and we loved little Toby :-)
