“A welcoming and hugely relaxing paradise”

I cannot speak highly enough of Iguana Lodge. We had a perfect stay. The location is excellent, right on the beach facing east towards the warm Golfo Dulce. It’s not too far from the great little town of Puerto Jimenez. We got up and saw the sunrise from the lawn or beach most mornings. The location and grounds are wonderful and so full of animal and bird life. There is a lovely secluded pool and yoga loft. Our room was very comfortable indeed, and we welcomed a large bed. The bar/restaurant serves really great drinks - lots of refreshing cocktails and some excellent craft beers too. The food was so tasty and fresh, and we loved the breakfast, which was slightly different each day. Best of all though were the excellent staff and the wonderful owners Lauren and Toby, who were the perfect hosts; super friendly, welcoming and helpful. We really want to go back already!

“Magical Jungle Experience”

The food was very good. Best breakfast. The private casita was very cool. Watching the waves, the sunset, and the lovely staff. The jungle experience is magical.

“A special hotel and grounds in a beautiful part of Costa Rica”

We loved watching the incredible sunrises from our balcony or spending time at the beautiful near empty beach. The hotel and grounds are so relaxing and the owners and team have created a very special place to just do your thing. They can organise all sorts of different trips and tours if u want and shout out to the breakfast team - each morning was a real treat - just gorgeous! ( In fact all the food was exceptional ). The longer we stayed the more we fell in love with the place and the area .. our last night was kayaking in the mangroves and harbour - we saw a turtle and watched the dolphins. We know why many people return… Thank you.

We loved our room, all the staff where incredible and the owners Lauren and Toby where kind, helpful and very welcoming. The location is remote, peaceful and we only wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful secluded location with an empty beach at the doorstep. Nice area to make daytrips to Corovado NP or Matapalo Area. Great staff, great restaurant with great food and drinks.

“A small sliver of paradise”

Iguana Lodge is a wonderful hotel placed in a small sliver of paradise. The facilities, food and staff is all great and the views and beach is beautiful. We had such a wonderful time and would love to come back to visit again one day.

Nice welcome by the reception staff and helpfulness of it during the stay. Good meals prepared and served with kindness by the local staff. Wild beautiful beach in front of the hotel. Peaceful place at day and night. Kindness of the owner Toby and a lot of personal paintings from his wife Lauren. Birds, trees, leaves and sometimes monkeys shouting. If you wish to stay for a while out of the crazy world, it’s a very good quiet spot.

A 10 star. A beach you have for yourself. A yoga deck and a pool that is from the movies. A place that is not new anymore but the vibes are amazing. It is a creative place. You can paint you can make music. The food is amazing. Nicest crew I had in Costa Rica. And a campfire at the beach for dinner. Common what more? Please dont change too much when you renovate it. It is perfect as it is!

Wonderful hotel on a beautiful sandy beach - almost no other people on the beach, warm water for swimming, kayaking and boarding. Saw lots of birds and mammals from the hotel patio! Very friendly and attentive staff who organised a whale/dolphin boat trip for us, and also taxis into town for other activities / harbour / airport (about 10 minutes away). They were also happy to keep our bags overnight when we went hiking in the National Park. The menu for breakfast and dinner varied each day which was great, with other staples always available. Great cocktails too!

“Best place to stay in Puerto Jimenez area”

The food was fresh, local, and delicious. The resort is beautifully landscaped and has a magical quality with all the old-growth trees, art, and cool design. It is a very relaxing place but also offers activities with the free use of boogie boards and surfboards. The staff was very polite and helpful. Everything was wonderful for our family vacation. I love this place and hope to return again. We also spent one night at the Hilton Botanika resort and everyone preferred Iguana Lodge for its authenticity and beauty.

“Peaceful, natural, wonderful”

It was the best lodge in Costa Rica, also the best area of the country. The staff is amazingly kind. Breakfast is very good, and also the rest of the meals, which are totally homemade. It provides different types of activities in the sea and forest, and is also a peaceful place for yoga, has a an art ateliê, etc. It is the perfect combination of forest and beach.
