The Lodge is quite remote and you need a 4W car to get there. It is worth, the family, is very nice and the daughter speaks some english, the parents only speak spanish. The breakfast and the dinner are very good local food. But the best thing is the location you can see a lot of birds, Ara's Tucans and other birds. We even have seen Tapirs. We have been the only tourist. The sleeping room is reasonable and clean don't expect too much comfort.

Location of Albergue La Laguna is great for nature and bird lovers. Lodge is quite simple but beds were comfy, clean and there were no insects in our rooms. Lodge is surrounded by nature - lagoon, forest, meadows. There are only 4 rooms and there is huge space with hammocks, tables, armchairs to relax. Staff was very friendly and they offered tasty breakfast at reasonable price. It was one of 2-3 greatest accomodation during our month stay in Costa Rica. Remote and 4x4 car access only!

“Wonderful Unique Stay”

Very remote and beautiful setting surrounded by nature!! The entire family made us feel very welcome, we especially enjoyed our hike through the jungle provided by one of the daughters ❤️ Homemade meals made mainly from food sourced on their farm were delicious and plentiful. A wonderful way to see and experience a little bit of Tico life.

This was most beautifull place we visited in our 3 weeks holiday in CR. Farm is situated in the heart of Osa penisula, there is incredible birds orchestra that wake you up in the morning, tucans nesting just on the tree in the garden, araras and parrots flying around, lots of different hummingbirds in the garden...It is impossible to describe how nice these place is, and owners are very kind persons, food is delicious, jungle walks around spectacular...Our kids enjoyed so much and told us how happy they were that we choose this amazing place to stay....thank you again

The hotel is very remote, in the middle of the forest. It is quiet and idyllic. Perfect for watching animals of all kinds. The owners are very very friendly! The food is freshly cooked and tastes fantastic! Recommended for anyone looking for something out of the ordinary!

“Super relaxing experience of authentic Tico life with lovely Spanish speaking family”

A wonderful dive into rural Tico life. Very kind family who live a simple life away from it all. Daughter Delilah took us out in the forest twice to see ancient trees and spot wildlife. She speaks a few words of English, we were extra lucky her friend was there and able to translate. Walking in the jungle with the two of them was a magical experience. Llorena’s food is super delicious - very plentiful. Everything is clean and very well maintained. Great value for money and an experience unlike any other we had in Costa Rica.

“Magic wild feelings”

If you are looking for a true jump into the wild nature, this is the right place. The owner owns a local sustainable vegetable garden from which all ingredients of our dinners have been magically cooked and served. To reach the place you will cross part of the primary woods with ancient trees and rare animals. It is worth it.

“Best hostel experience you will find in Costa Rica”

The place is incredibly amazing. Lots of flora and fauna around the area, comfortable rooms and perhaps most importantly, super friendly family hosting. The food they offer is grown in the area and it is strongly recommended. Super worth getting out of the main road and pay a visit to albergue La Laguna.

The house and the family there are amazing! You feel like at home. They prepare very tasty meals from their own products. We also were on night hiking together. We had to try our spanish language skills which was a nice experiance however the doughter knows some english. It is far away from civilization and that is what you shoud expect. I recommend that place. 4x4 not needed in my opinion, however there is gravel route, steep from time to time.
