Located 3 minutes' drive from the beach in Puerto Escondido, Caracol Plaza has a large outdoor pool and a balcony are included in each air-conditioned room. Reception was understaffed, and the staff that were there didn't seem very good at their jobs The bigger pool was max depth 1.25 metres, and really just for kids. All installations were a bit old and dated. For example, in both the shower and sink the taps were almost impossible to turn off fully so always dripping. Cockerels wake you at 2am and 4am and never seem to stop. You can also hear the toilets flushing and taps running in neighbouring rooms extremely loud. I'm not a light sleeper, and it's rare I complain about noise, but it was quite bad here.

“Everything worked out pretty well”
The hotel was fine; nothing superb but fine. Everything worked out pretty well, everything as presented in the photos and the information provided. It met my expectations. The view is beautiful, therefore the location might require a power-walk. But it wasn’t so bad, and definitely worth it if you don’t want to be in the noisy part of town.
