Our family rented the bedroom next to the shared kitchen and the studio apartment. The studio apartment is great and the best accommodation option. The bedroom was fine but just one chair and be aware there are steps up to the bedroom and down into the small bathroom in this bedroom. Plenty of storage and equipment in the shared kitchen and in the studio. Pool, loungers and garden area were beautiful. The bedroom looked out onto the shared outside dining area but it was not at all noisy as the other guests were respectful during our stay. The caretaker was lovely - just note, limited English spoken and my Spanish is rubbish but we managed! You can walk to the main beaches, into the town and to the ADO bus station plus the other local transport options. Taxis up and town the street if you need one, just check the price before you set off.

“Basic accommodation”

The location was in between the places we wanted to go and close to nice beaches. The room was big and plenty of storage space. The pool was nice, but in very shaded part of garden so always looked a bit cold to sit out. There is a nice outside dining area and kitchen, but it felt like you were intruding on the family space. Although there was a language barrier all the staff were lovely and helpful and organised a taxi for us. The rooms by the pool looked a bit nicer.

If you are looking my for a relaxing stay look no further. Casa Puerto Viejo is a gem. Great location in the city centre, walking distance to playa Carazalillo and Maranzanillo, also, if you are travelling by bus is an excellent location close to the bus terminal. Despite being so central the property is very quiet and you can only hear cicadas at night, a true paradise. The pool was a fantastic addition and the staff were super nice, Marta and Jose are great and very helpful.

The garden was beautifully kept and the pool was of a good size so that you could get some exercise. The location was good. Easy to walk to most parts of Puerto Escondido. The staff were lovely. Marta was very accommodating and welcoming.
