Overview
Katarma is a beautifully decorated and environmentally oriented hotel located in San Cristobal that offers an indoor swimming pool and adjacent restaurant and bar, a tour desk and free WiFi access. Each one of the 14 spacious bedrooms is decorated with recycled ceramic tiles and offers a minimalistic design. They feature a private bathroom with a hot-water shower and free toiletries, a wardrobe and 110v connections. You will also find black-out curtains in every room. Katarma is inspired entirely by art; it mixes different architectural, design, painting and sculptural influences to create a space where peace and life take the upmost importance. Being in Galapagos, Katarma can assist you with outings to Leon Dormido rock where you can swim with sea turtles and sharks, Playa Ochoa beach filled with sea lions or Isla Lobos, amongst many other options. Galapagos naval Museum can be reached after a 5-minute drive, while San Cristobal Airport is even closer located just 600 metres away.

Quiet street near the waterfront with lots of restaurants, shops. Good breakfast and refreshing pool. Very nice exteriors. If you don't need staff running around and are independent, this is the place for you. A nice beach is Puerto Chino - swimming and nature (30 USD one way, and if you agree with the driver, he will pick you up a few hours later). La Loberia beach is very close, great for animal watching, swimming and seeing turtles and sea lions. At low tide there are a lot of rocks so it's not great for frolicking in the waves.

It's no option to pay with credit card, only cash or PayPal transfer. Swimming pool not really useful, more for decoration.

“Perfect location and super helpful staff”
We were met by the very friendly staff on our arrival who gave us some great information about what to do in the Island. We had already booked our day trip to Espanola but appreciated the tips on beaches. The location was perfect, just 10 mins to the pier in one direction and 10 mins to airport in the other. They also did a big bag of washing for us in Christmas Day for only $5 (returned by the afternoon) - great service!
