The facilities were good, but we didn't feel at ease with the hotel staff

Everything. The property was extremely spacious and contains all required facilities, from a fresh water tap to a fully equipped kitchen, coffee maker etc. The bathroom was huge with good shower pressure. Above all, the staff is the best. The housekeeper Fabiola was so sweet and John (the owner) offered a complimentary Belgian breakfast (waffles and strawberries) on the rooftop terrace with seaview on our last day.

“Outstanding apartment with attention to detail in every aspect”

We were delighted with our apartment which was even more lovely and spacious than it appeared in the photographs. It was super comfortable for a family of four, fully equipped with everything you could need (including a coffee maker!) and is perfectly located a stone’s throw from the main strip of restaurants and shops. The beds were also very comfortable with quality mattresses and bedding. The breakfast terrace was an added bonus and the breakfasts were five star - fresh fruit (and fresh fruit juice!), home made granola, eggs à la carte and all beautifully presented at a time to suit you. Best of all, we really appreciated the helpfulness and responsiveness of our host John. Nothing was too much trouble and this was hospitality as never before! We will definitely be staying here again if we’re lucky enough to one day return to Santa Cruz!

Every need had been catered for and John was an excellent, friendly and welcoming host, checking daily everything was well. His attention to detail was exceptional. Fabiola cleaned our apartment daily and was warm, friendly with a delightful smile and happy demeanour. We truly enjoyed staying in his apartment.

“Lovely stay”

I had a lovely stay at Torre Mar! It was walking distance to the shopping area but still away from the noise you would expect from a popular area. John was very inviting and helpful. He allowed for an early check-in (availability) and helped carry my luggage up. His friendly assistant, Panda (the dog) was also super lovely and kindly walked me out on my day of checkout. The room was clean, equipped with a drinking water dispenser, a functioning kitchen amongst other much needed amenities. A place I’ll recommend staying at.

“Excellent !”

The apartment was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. It has a well equipped kitchen that we did not use because we were out all day. We were able to enjoy a cup of tea in the evening at the beautiful terrace by the apartment. The beds were super comfortable and there was a daily room service. It is well located about 8 min walk from the center of Puerto Ayora. The internet service was good, we just used it to answer e-mails and to navigate the internet for information about the islands. The owners of Torre Mar, John and Donna, were extremely kind and super helpful. American Airlines lost our luggage and they helped us to bring them from Baltra airport to Puerto Ayora so that we did not have to change our vacation plans. John also helped us to organize different tours that were excellent. When we left to take a 7 am ferry to Isabella Island, John and Donna prepared for us a goodie bag with crackers, cookies, and juice boxes. It was very sweet. We really enjoyed our stage at Torre Mar. Thank you John and Donna!!

“Excellent”

The Host Donna is incredibly nice, she asked before on how I want my breakfast to be served. Even I went diving, she prepared it as to go. The rooms are all clean.

Donna was a fantastic host, both helpful and kind. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfasts on the terrace were a delight. We also used the laundry service which was perfect after a week in a cloud forest. Added bonus? The wall photos decorating the hotel were stunning.

“An excellent place for a longer visit.”

Torre Mar went beyond my expectations. I stayed in the two-bedroom bungalow beside the main building. It has a beautiful, private courtyard with picnic table, wash line, barbeque, and a coconut palm. Indoors, there is a fully equipped kitchen with table and chairs, a bathroom with lovely organic toiletries, and a washing machine. Beyond its physical advantages, the attention I received from Donna, the owner, was exceptional. She provided a detailed folder with information about everything I was likely to need and also dropped by each evening to see how I was doing and answer any questions that I had. In addition, when she had to be out of town, she arranged for someone else to come by. The location is very convenient with shops just around the corner and about a 10-minute walk to the water.

The Breakfast was always very delicious with omlet, fruits, warm bread and fresh coffee and juice
