Peaceful location close to the village. Lovely staff who were very kind and helpful. Interesting area to visit, we had a guided tour of the nearby caves where there are paleolithic paintings.

“The perfect start to my 3 week walk in Spain”

A hot bath was exactly what I needed after walking 30km from Santander. Dinner was delicious and made better by my host playing Mozart/Beethoven on the radio. The Rioja Puente del Lago had plum fruits. All this for incredibly good value.

Breakfast was very good. The location was handy to town centre and to the caves with prehistoric paintings. The room and the hotel in general was kept very clean. There was plenty of parking available. The location was rural even though on the outskirts of the town. There were cattle in the fields, and a cute donkey in the paddock over the other side of the road. The menu for the evening meal was also very good, and at a very reasonable price.

Friendly people, very welcoming. Ideal to visit the caves to see the rock art. I was surprised by the tranquility and the easy going. The food is fantastic. Perfect.

“An excellent stay at the foot of the mountains”

Very friendly and welcoming staff. The room was large, comfortable and very nicely decorated, with a small balcony. It’s only a short walk into the centre of Puente Viesgo which is very pretty

We stayed 5 nights. The staff were friendly and the breakfast and evening meals were good. The room was clean and the bathroom quite big. It's very close to Puente Viesgo and we enjoyed walking along the lanes and Greenway, as well as climbing up to the caves on the opposite hill. The local Coviran mini-market was adequate. You can hire bicycles to cycle along the Greenway.

The most comfortable bed in all of Spain. Quiet, beautiful location,which I love, comfortable lounge area, drinks served and lovely breakfast. Lots of art, historic photos and artistically arranged surrounds gave a homely feel. Will return for longer next time

Beautiful building and room with lovely hillside views from balcony. Super clean. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. Just a 1km or so bike ride or walk to lovely village on the river

“Calm, cozy, and with a warm welcome”

The personal is extremely nice and is ready to help you with whatever you need. The chambers and common parts are extremely clean, to the point where you can eat from the floor. The hotel is cozy, calm, and dog friendly. Plus, you can have meals in place, which is handy for when you are too tired to search for a restaurant. The best of all is that this whole package comes at affordable prices. The cherry on top of the cake is that we had an issue with our toilet (it didn't flush). Problems can always happen, anywhere, but the important is how the staff reacts to them. As soon as I warned the staff, they immediately proposed me to change rooms. I told them it wasn't necessary, and I just needed a bucket to collect water -- I didn't want to move my luggage. Then they asked permission to fix the toilet, which they did in a quick and tidy fashion. Honestly, I don't remember ever having a staff so ready to make you feel comfortable. I couldn't recommend this place enough!

Such a lovely location, the area is very pretty. Staff so welcoming and the room has a lovely little balcony. Nice places to walk with my dog who was welcomed at this hotel. Basic but nice breakfast.
